Joel Silver talks Lobo, Swamp Thing, Sgt. Rock and More!

Producer Joel Silver has updated his comic-book movies projects and told SCI WIRE in a group interview last weekend from Hollywood. He was promoting movie project Ninja Assassin at the time there. Read all here...

Lobo: Joel Silver first off tells everyone that Lobo is a DC Comics character for mature audiences, he's a antihero alien who mass murdered his own entire species to be original. Lobo's super strong, has a healing factor and much more, but Silver wouldn't say whether Lobo would be prosthetic makeup or created on a computer and he said something about blue skin?

Silver has already confirmed and commissioned a promising test he said. "We just did a big test, and the studio just saw it, so we're seeing how we're going to pull that off. It's up to the studio to make the decision what they want to do, so I'm waiting to see if they want to make that movie."

Sgt. Rock: Sgt.Rock is a soldier in World War II with superhuman strength and endurance, plus a bullseye shot bringing down planes with a machine gun.

Director Francis Lawrence has really impressed Silver with his ideas on the Sgt. Rock movie. Silver said "Francis has got a real vision for this thing, and if we can pull it off it'll be a great movie."

Swamp Thing: Silver confirmed that in September he would make the DC Comics adaption in 3-D. He's also confirmed the Swamp Thing project is moving forward but probably won't be ready for a Halloween 2010. Silver told everyone this; "I don't think it'll be that soon, but we're working on it. It's happening, so we'll see what happens. I mean, it's something I'm excited about doing, and I want to hopefully pull that off, so we're working on that now."

Sherlock Holmes 2: Silver wants to get the sequel going as fast as possible and get that on the fast track.

The Apparition: Another Silver project, which he plans to make with Twilight Ashley Greene as the leading lady.

LEEE777 - Well awesome news these projects are even being talked about, though not sure on the blue skin take on Lobo, he's got white skin, plus it is a good sign WWII is still mentioned in Sgt.Rock, even though they may still go the other way. As for Swamp Thing, a big yes from me. Others meh not so much! ; D

Lobo the movie could giving Lobo more popularity just like Iron Man the movie did to Iron man. I first thought that Kevin Durand was the best choice for Lobo. When I read an article on MTV it showed this new guy James Preston Rogers who is the ideal pick for Lobo. After that I noticed James is the best pick for Lobo. MTV even did a research that James is the best pick for Lobo.

I posted the LOBO story myself but, this is a better quality, so I just deleted mine. (Insert)People over at Legacy Effects have some projects on the table, which include Terminator Salvation, Cap America and Thor, As well as Lobo. If they dont' find some big enough I would like to see a body cast, but more realistic than Ron's Hellboy. Jason Mamoa was pretty good on Stargate ATlantis.

shahrazstate @ JAMES PRESTON actually won a LOBO POLL on another site, but ive forgot what one? Thought you should know!

BETTY @ I know lol, but id rather him be a little stronger than not even be in WWII, but yeah it still sounds bad for SGT.ROCK!

LEEE- Well, if you wanna see the nipples, all you need to do is click on the sketch and log on to DeviantArt ;)

6of13- I wouldn't be opposed to Durand OR Mamoa. They are great choices. But i still prefer JDF cause i feel he's the one that would have Lobo's personality down cold better than the rest ;)

"You'd rather [frick]ing WELLING as SUPERMAN, wtf does that make you buddy!!!???"

LOL Where do you get off with that comment? I am neither for Welling or Routh. I want a completely new recasting for completely new film. However, Routh does make Welling look like a real actor. LOL

Which is exactly what you're hoping Brandon Routh will do for you? How do you come up with statements like that? I didn't even offer up an alternative for you to swat down with a swath of postings of Doomsday vs. Superman with a likeness of Routh. A likeness that would have been better if it were in the SR!
