Movie Review Site Spill.com Will Be Shut Down

A rather influential movie review site has been forced to shut it's doors. The founder of the site chose to leave a very heartfelt message on the matter.

Today marks a sad day for movie reviewers of the internet. A personal favorite site of mine to visit, spill.com, has apparently been shut down by its parent company, Hollywood.com. While some of you may not have heard of the site or it's members, (Korey, Co-Host, Leon, Cyrus, and ex-member Carlyle) they've left a lasting influence on movie reviewing on the internet and inspired many to become self made reviewers. Their ever expansive list of video reviews, audio reviews, and podcasts such as A Couple of Cold Ones, Let's Do This!!!, and The League of Extremely Ordinary Gentleman, created an unlimited amount of entertainment for its viewers. A message has been left by the site's main founder, Korey Coleman.

Many of you have heard already that Spill.com will be no more after December. I want to thank every talented person who was employed by this site for your years of committed hard work. You may not have noticed, but you are an inspiration. I won't lie, I'm a little jealous of your skills. However, you make me work that much harder, and will continue to do so. I respect you immensely.

I want to thank Hollywood.com for their support. You gave us so much and afforded me so many experiences that most people will never have in their lives. I am forever grateful.

Most of all I appreciate the Spill community. Needless to say there would never be a Spill.com without you. You've given us many gifts throughout the years, but the most important gift is that of friendship. You aren't inconspicuous avatars on a webpage, you're friends. You've opened your homes to us across the world. You've helped us organize events to celebrate our successes. Most importantly, you were there when things were not so happy, even if it was just a kind word. Friends like that are hard to come by in everyday life, much less a website.

For that reason I can leave this chapter of my life with love and calm in my heart. Thank you.

Korey

P.S. - WE STILL HAVE A FEW MORE PODCASTS TO DO SO GET BACK TO WORK!

Recently, Korey Coleman posted on his twitter account three message that hopefully create a better light at the end of the tunnel for its members.

I have six words for all you dear Spillios - IT AIN'T GOIN' DOWN LIKE THAT!

You all know know how much I love you. You're my friends - AND I DON'T KICK FRIENDS OUT MY HOUSE!!!

@Wetfifty all you need to know is I feel inspired right now.

How do you feel about this? Did you know about the site and were you a fan of it? Comment below and maybe you'll find some other spillios. Now then... LET'S DO THIS!!!

I used to love Spill, but I did stop listening to them recently. Their animation reviews are funny though.

I used to watch their video reviews back in 2010-2011 and some audio reviews as well but stopped doing so because they began to review like entitled critics. Nitpicking and not taking the movie for what it was.

Good thing they got shut down

Damn. This is the saddest news that i've been given all week. I love listening to there audio reviews on movies and i love listening to there daily spill shows.

The crew will surely be missed not by me but from many fans. I wish them the best of luck.
