Seattle "Superhero" Phoenix Jones Arrested

Inspired by DC Comics Hero Nightwing and with two years on the job, Seattle's Phoenix Jones is arrested for the first time.

Phoenix and his sidekicks are claiming that they jumped into action once they saw a group of people kicking a defenseless man on the ground. However, it looks like the tables were turned and once Phoenix pulled out some pepper spray on the rowdy group, he was the one to be arrested for assault. The group in question also claims that there was no man being beaten on the ground, but that they were:

"dancing and having a good time when they were attacked by the masked man in black and yellow body armor."

To add further insult to injury, the Seattle police released "Phoenix Jones" true identity to the public after the altercation which Jones states not only puts his family at risk but his daytime job of working with autistic kids in jeopardy.

There is a glimmer of hope that Jones can be vindicated as he was travelling with a freelance reporter that evening taking video recordings (click the link below for video).

Like the article says..."this would never happen to Batman"...

The cops are assholes to Jones. If I was a cop in Washington then I'd totally back Jones up like Gordon does with Batman.

They should send that guy to the rubberroom anyway before he gets himself killed.

@thegdswooperguy I don't think they deserved or wanted him as a hero.

@jer3miah Never heard of this guy but the real crazies tend to be white people

Anyone that wants to be a superhero should be su to get superpowers or working ironman armor first. Running around as Karate man wont last long. Guns beat fists

This whole situation is such bullshit. I watched the video last night. These punks were on the streets beating the shit outta 2 guys and Phoenix ran across the streets to broke up the fight. Pepper sprayed them and everything to get them away from the 2 guys. Next thing ya know another person decideds to run over one of the 2 guys with his car and drives off so Phoenix decides to chase after it to get the license. Next thing you know Phoenix ganged up on by the punks who started the mess all the while his camera guy is talking to dispatch about the situation until cops show up 15 mins later and decide they're gonna arrest Phoenix and his group. Seattles best at their worst for ya.

@KingKazama: I understand the situation, now.. But look at the world we live in. Or the cops that run it. If Batman has trouble in fictional stories with the cops, just imagine. Reality is stranger than fiction.

@Minghangz they're not assholes, they're doing their jobs. Some nut throws on a costume and arms himself with pepper spray and good intentions. It's all well and good in comics and movies, but in the real world, he should already be dead. And he works with autistic kids?

No, he didn't deserve to be arrested, and he was doing the right thing by trying to help. But the majority of cops are in fact good people, and they receive training in dealing with criminal situations. If they aid vigilantes, then more vigilantes pop up because they know they can get away with it and like the idea of living in a comic book. Next thing we know, a bunch of dead kids in superhero costumes are found, killed by criminals because the cops allowed them to follow their deluded intentions.

I also agree that they shouldn't have revealed his identity, but perhaps it was the kick up the ass he needed to sort himself out. Best thing for this guy is to move out of Seattle and lay low. No more superhero antics for Phoenix Jones. At least he hasn't been killed yet.

So no, it wouldn't be a good idea for any cop to back him up like Gordon does for Batman. Batman's a billionaire with tonnes of high tech crime fighting equipment, and has had training across the globe by the best fighters to ever live. And most importantly, he's fictional. This guy is flesh and blood, and all he's done is lift some weights, maybe take a cheap kung-fu class and make a costume. If he wants to make a difference, maybe he should join the police force instead.

F/U/C/K/ the Police. The only thing the cops are good for are eating donuts & writing speeding tickets. They are a [frick]in joke.Every time I call the cops about someone doing something illegal, they act like they can't do anything. So I commend this guy for trying to help people when the [frick]in pigs won't do anything. What was that Ice-T song called..Copkiller,yeah.I could give two shits less what happens to cops, worthless pieces of shit.

Stupid Police revealing his identity. I wouldn't be surprised if his family was now killed because of this.

Shut the [frick] up loser. You come on a article about a crazy BLACK GUY dressing up as a superhero and you are actual ignorant enough to say white people are the real crazies. Go jack off to your comic book collection nerd.

The guys is doing some good out there helping people. Sure it is funny in the begining, but he has some balls to put his life out there to help people. Sounds strange but these guys are need to fill that void. He's doing something we here on CBM day dream about. GO PJ!

This sucks. I like the guy. I think that he's good for his city. I actually think that more cities need good vigilantes.

@ACira
Don't get your panties in a bunch bro, lol. Obviously this is the real world and things that happen in comics would probably never happen in real life. I don't think you picked up on my sarcasm about the Batman/Gordon comment but I was being serious about cops being assholes. I'm not saying all are but I've had my run with power hungry and authority abusing cops. Honestly, I think he was only arrested because the cops were annoyed of him and looked for some other probable cause (assualt) even though his intentions were good. Phoenix Jones may be one of the more known "vigilantes" but there are actually several people who dress up acting as "vigilantes." With that said, Phoenix Jones may have inspired people to be "vigilantes" but there have been several people before him who have tried it (he just gets more press).
