THE LAST JEDI Director Rian Johnson Set To Helm KNIVES OUT Starring JAMES BOND's Daniel Craig

As the JAMES BOND 25 creative team is regrouping, it seems as though Daniel Craig is moving to another project. From THE LAST JEDI director Rian Johnson, the murder mystery film is titled KNIVES OUT.

Rian Johnson has been cited as a very divisive creator as of late. Due to vocal fan backlash from The Last Jedi, following critically acclaimed titles like Looper and Brick, the director has found passion from both lovers and haters. Currently hard at work on a new and original Star Wars trilogy, the creative has also found time to develop Knives Out, a mystery film that he penned himself with the intention to direct.

Going back to his unique storytelling roots, the film will be more akin to his pre-Star Wars work. Starring Daniel Craig as the lead, the original project will aim to set an A-list ensemble. Ram Bergman, The Last Jedi producer and frequent Rian Johnson collaborator, will also be involved.

Following the fallout of Bond 25, the pair persuaded Craig to join the film, which is set for production before the spy franchise gets back on its feet. Described by Deadline as a "modern murder mystery in the classic whodunit style," mixed with Johnson's signature flair, the film will be seeking acquisition at the Toronto International Film Festival next week.

I liked Brick a lot but I wasn't really a fan of Looper. But the premise of the film sounds good.

@NOVAtheSUPA - It’s still moving forward, he just confirmed last week, this is just what he planned in between while JJ and Lucasfilm are busy with Episode 9.

Even if I didn't like The Last Jedi I'd still be excited for whatever he does next.

May the Lord bless him and keep him.... far away from Star Wars.😄

But he will find a way to destroy the film genre: in the articles it is mentioned: "modern murder mystery in the classic whodunit style,"

Classic is something that won't resonate with Ruin Johnson. He'll say "I will subvert your so called expectations and destroy the narrative."

Yeah, I will never again watch anything with that guy's name on it. He's the very worst kind of poison.
