Top Ten awesome movie death scenes!

The top ten movie death moments that make you go...'wow'

When we go to movies, action/drama/sci-fi (etc), when the villain or hero gets killed, it either wows us or disappoints. This is my top ten list of that 'wow' moment.

10. Green Goblin's death, Spider-man (2002)

This whole fight scene is pretty epic. The whole time Green Goblin is kicking Spidey's ass but when Gobby starts mocking New York's favorite hero, things go down hill for him after that. This death is so epic, so quick, so...'oh'.

9. Ra's Al Ghul's death, Batman Begins (2005)

Quite possibly the best line in any CBM comes in this death scene right here, when Batman says, 'I won't kill you. But I don't have to save you.' As Batman glides away from the doomed train, Ra's Al Ghul realizes he has met his maker-closes his eyes and is done for when the train falls of the rail and explodes after destroying a parking structure. EPIC.

8. Nazi's death, Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981)

Not only is this awesome, but Iconic and historical. Back then, this blew people away and scared them. Even 'The Rock' said he was frightened by this. (Well when he was a kid). Kudos to the special effect's team.

7. Megatron's death, Transformers (2007)

This was a thrilling moment indeed when Sam chooses not to put the cube into Optimus's chest but rather into Megatron, thus killing the evil robot once and for all (or so we thought..)

6. Jango Fett's death, Attack of the Clones (2002)

Jango Fett Owned Obi-wan earler in the movie (twice, actually) but couldn't defeat Sammy. He was doomed from the start when Mace was charging at him. Pitty. Had potential for later films. Nahhh. Boba was better.

5. Mace Windu's death, Episode 3 (2005)

Poor Sammy. He could've ended it right here but instead took his sweet earned time and let Anakin chop off his hand, thus allowing Sideus to shout, 'Unlimited Power!' as he is zapped out of the window. Oh don't worry Samuel. You'll redeem yourself in the avengers.

4. Toilet Death scene, Jurassic Park (1993)

Not only is this an awesome way to go out, but its also an embarrassing way as well. Come on. Don't you wish you would've gone out in dignity instead of being eaten off of a toilet? I can see this is the way Joel Schumacher dies...

3. Leo's death, The Departed (2006)

I'm pretty sure none of us saw this coming when we saw this movie. At this point where Leo and Matt are in the elevator, we think that Matt's days of being the rat are officially over. But as the doors slide open, we jump or flinch in our seats after Leo's brains are splattered over the wall.

2. Eddie's Death, The Lost World Jurassic Park (1997)

Simply, this scene is just [frick]in' awesome. With a beautiful score by the legendary John Williams, and two realistic looking t-rex's created by the legendary Stan Winston, this scene tops the others below it. First of all, you know you're doomed when two T-rex's are by your car. If you're eddie, you're reachin' for that gun because you're in denial.

1. Darth Maul's bitter end, Phantom Menace (1999)

I both love and hate this death. I hate it because I wish they would've kept Maul alive for future films. Love it because its so awesome. Once again, Williams gives us a great score as the best sith to hit the big screen is chopped in half by Obi-wan. After all of that ass-kicking, Maul gets cocky and allows a padawan to send him packin'. He may have not been in future installments for Lucas's universe, but his death lands (pun intended) him in my #1 death scene spot.

well that's it for me.

Xavier's death is cool and disappointing because I was pissed they killed him off. Thanks, Ratner

By "awesome," you actually mean lame...I get it...hehehe. Nazi death scene is the only legit one listed.

How do you define a death scene?
In my eyes, not all of these are death scenes. For instance, Jango Fett's death was a battle scene he just happened to be a casualtie. If the battle was centered around him (which it wasn't) then that would be a different story. Ra's "Death Scene" happened before he died, and were not even sure if he died at all. He is going to appear in the next Batman movie if I need to remind you. So Ra's scene was more of a "the moment, before the death, scene".

Ra's Al Ghuls death was really cool...
May I suggest the following;
The Crow - Top Dollar and T-Birds death
The Punisher - John Travolta's death

Ohhh I get it! Since these are from movies, that means they really didn't die. Oh so what were you expecting from this list? Princess Diana's death? Osama's? Saddam?

@golden123

everyone has their own tastes. And if you can't respect mine then well I could really give a damn.

...and if you really dislike my articles (as I've seen through your comments in the last few I've posted) then don't read em anymore. The author's name is listed below the jump in the archive section FYI. Good day sir.

@Justsomeawesome: I was afraid you would start disliking me because I don't like all your articles. You actually do post some very interesting and good articles. I respect you as a user, but nobodies perfect. You don't always post articles I don't like. Some of your articles I actually really do like. You shouldn't just generalize. Just because I think this list isn't as good as it could be and that I called one of your recent articles ignorant thinking, doesn't mean I can't enjoy all your editorials. Have a good day!
