The WWE is reporting that James Brian Hellwig, famously known as The Ultimate Warrior, has passed away at the age of 54. He is survived by his wife Dana and his two daughters. Below is his hall of fame speech that he gave on Monday Night Raw. R.I.P.

Warrior – who was born James Brian Hellwig – began his career in 1987. He defeated Hulk Hogan at WrestleMania VI to become WWE Champion.

The Hall of Fame induction marked his return to WWE after an 18-year absence. During his Hall of Fame speech, he announced that he signed a new multi-year deal with WWE, serving as an official ambassador.

During Monday’s episode of WWE Raw, he slipped on his mask, embracing his character a final time, his words full of heart and poignancy.

“No WWE talent becomes a legend on their own,” he said. “Every man’s heart one day beats its final beat. His lungs breathe their final breath. And if what that man did in his life makes the blood pulse through the body of others and makes them bleed deeper in something that’s larger than life, then his essence, his spirit, will be immortalized by the storytellers — by the loyalty, by the memory of those who honor him, and make the running the man did live forever.

You, you, you, you, you,” he said, pointing to the fans, “are the legend-makers of Ultimate Warrior.”

That quote just gives me chills now that I heard he passed away today, I just saw him last night on RAW. And when he was giving his speech about being immortalized it was all from the heart and he really meant every word, It's like he knew his time was up. Really chilling news indeed, R.I.P Warrior there will never be another like you.

RIP. I heard him make that speech and, even though the words are exactly the same, his passing really emphasized the message in a different light. May God bring peace to you and your family.

@RamonSuarez: How the hell is it Steroids? The Warrior hasn't wrestled in over a decade. Stop making crap up.

Anyway, R.I.P. One of the greats.

hey i said he was awesome in his day,at one time my favorite wrestler i even saw him wrestle the undertaker on a wwf uk rampage tour.

however what he was like inside & outside the ring he was a douche bag, steroid abuse, actually hitting wrestlers in the ring until he ran into one of andre the giants fists, during the match you can see andre say to bobby heenan "i think he starting to learn" or the amount of times he was booked for an event & didn't bother turning up or refusing to put other wrestlers over when his career was coming to the end.

also how about when young kids use to run up to him & ask him for an autograph & he use to tell them to f*ck off or the multiple times he made air stewards cry by the way he use to talk to them.

go on youtube & listen how other wrestlers talk about the ultimate warrior.

he was a an awesome wrestler & its sad that he has died, how this or my previous comment makes me a disney i don't know.

His speech on this past Raw was prophetic in a way. I wonder if he knew that he didn't have much time to live. At least, he had fun in his final days.
