Throughout the history of comic books, there have been a lot, and I mean A LOT, of memorable moments. Of all those moments, which is your favorite?

While I was slacking off at work today, I was thinking of some moments in comic book history that just made me say "DAMN!" So, people of CBM, I want to know which are your favorite memories. Did they make you cry, laugh, smile, run to the restroom? Let us know!

Some of my favorite moments:

1) Spider-Man unmasks during the Civil War
2) Deadpool takes on and kills a bunch of clowns
3) The Captain America Trailer with the song "America F*** Yea!"

This goes way back:

"Alpha Flight" #12: Guardian explodes at the end. We knew someone was going to die, but never would have thought it was the leader of the team. Of course, Marvel would diminish its meaning by bringing him back to life over and over and over again.

Not sure which issue, Sue Richards has a miscarriage after Reed enlists the help of Bruce Banner, Walter Langkowski (Sasquatch), and even Dr. Octopus. This was middle 1980's. It was terribly sad and exemplified that comics weren't for kids.

Mary Jane tells Peter she knows he's Spider-Man. This was a year or so before the marriage. It was an era before half of all the heroes knew his secret. He didn't even let the FF see his face when Reed removed the symbiote!

Phoenix committing suicide. Before she would rise as Phoenix or Jean Grey over and over, it was her own sense of justice after causing the death of one billion aliens.

My favorite moment was after Magneto pulled the adamantium from Wolverine's skeleton. That was cool, but my favorite moment would have to be after the ordeal, when Logan decides to leave the X-Men for a short time, and his farewell to Jubilee. Back then, Wolvie and Jubes were attached at the hip, and Jubes looked up to him like a big brother. When Logan gives Jubilee his hat just before he walks out the door. I don't know why, but I always loved that. :)

Dude, some great scenes, but how can you put the Thor scenes up there? They have not been shown yet.

Great enthusiasm though!

Wow! Great to see someone else remembers Alpha Flight #12. I was a big fan of John Byrne's Alpha Flight and that issue was fantastic and shocking all in one!!!

yeah i know what your saying, but i've read the script & played it out in my head also seen the trailer footage as well.

personally i think thor has got everything just right & could be a contender for best comic movie ever.

@ intruder

i forgot about that one, that is one of the greatest silver surfer stories ever.

i also love the moment when galactus shows up to his homeworld & they think his come to eat their planet but he came to pay his respect to the surfer & stays with him in his final moments.

if there is one comic that will make grown men shed a tear it this,it was handled alot better than the death of superman.

the moment which got me into comic books was from amazing spiderman. it was during the identity crisis story line where norman osborn hired someone, dressed him as the green goblin and paid him to kidnap normie. some issues before, spidey attacked norman in his penthouse after norman provoked him and he got the assault on tape. so he put a bounty on spidey for 5 millions. at the same time spidey was framed for murder by osborn and trapster. so, spidey was searching for normie and at the same time everyone was hunting him to get the money. Punisher and Shotgun joined the hunt. spidey was injured and fell into a river unconscious. a guy in desperate need of money finds him and performs CPR and saves spidey, instead of taking him to the police station and getting the money he so much needed. the CPR moment and the dialogue which followed shocked me and i fell in love with spidey. another moment was the death of gwen stacy and the end of the clone saga where mj miscarriages her child. i also loved the death of captain america and his role in civil war.

recent moments would definitely be spidey using the media against Norman Osborn in Dark Reign, Silver Surfer requiem one hell of bad ass story. Thor giving tony stark a [frick]ing deserved beating. Steve Rogers becoming the top dog of MU. the REAL hank pym asking "why?" to tony stark during the wasps funeral. bucky becoming cap, spidey unmasking man the list could go on. But classics like Gwen Stacy's death, demon in a bottle(pretty much every moment). then over at DC you had the new dynamic duo, blackest night, barry allen returning, batmans back being broken. Theres a lot of classic moments over the years but the most recent for me has to be caps role in civil war, showed all the best qualities in cap and Kitty pryde saving the whole [frick]ing earth when all the other super heroes failed.

When comics get it right boy do we end up with some classic moments

Oh and at the end of Secret Invasion when all the heroes and former team mates/friends of tony stark turn there backs on him. That scene summed up what every one thought of tony at that point.

When Star City grew it's forest, when Barry Allen came back to life, when Batman "died," when the Doom Patrol died, when the heroes and villains were brought back to life at the end of Blackest Night, when the white lantern corps stopped Nekron, when Max Lord killed Ted Kord, when Aquaman lost his hand, when the people of Multiverse fought back Darksied, seeing Kick-Ass's first time fighting crime(lol), when Dr. Manhattan created his structure on Mars, seeing the smiley face left on mars by Dr M, when Captain America got arrested, when Ragnarok killed Goliath, when Punisher saved Spiderman from the Thunderbolts, when Rick Grimes lost his hand, when Shane died, and when The Governor came rolling to the prison in a tank.

one of mine is when Drax ripped out Thanos' heart in Annihilation #5

another is the first "Fastball Special" performed after Joss Whedon brought back Colossus in Astonishing X-men. this one of the first issues I bought when I got back into comics. I didn't even know he was dead. but when wolverine looks at him and says "Hey bub, I got two words for you" and you flip the page and its a huge splash of Wolvie flying thru the air. frelling awesome moment, for me anyway.

Alex Ross's Justice has many many great moments, one of my favourite being when Captain Marvel saves Superman from certain death at the hands of Bizarro, Solomon Grundy, Metallo and Parasite. He takes all four down before you see who is responsible and his reveal is a direct nod to the fight he will have with Superman in Kingdom Come.

i've just remembered another two classics,uncanny x-men 202 & 203 they were both secret wars 2 crossovers.

one story was x-men vs sentinels the other story rachel summers was the phoenix at the time & she had one hell of a fight with the beyonder.

My fav moment, is probably when GL punches batman in green lantern rebirth. SO EPIC and im a hardcore marvel too:P

I would add to that Rachel being an almost Phoenix, wanting to kill Selene, leaving Wolverine to pop his claws into her heart to stop outright murder. John Romita Jr's art and Claremont's words were second only to the Byrne/Claremont run.
