The Punisher himself, Jon Bernthal, has stated that he would like to take a spin on a classic NES character. Punch-Out!!'s own Little Mac has been eyed by the famous actor. That's right. Jon Bernthal would like to play Little Mac "in a movie or TV adaptation". Here is more from the actor.
“What I’ve been playing with the kids is Mike Tyson’s Punch-Out,” he said when host Greg Nibler asked what video game character he’d like to play in a movie or TV adaptation. “Little Mac, he’s really small, but that would be really cool I think — his rise up through the ranks.”
For those of you that might not know of Little Mac, the character is a classic boxer from the classic beat-em-ups. The character's main aspiration is making it to the World Video Boxing Association, where rookies enter with dreams of becoming world champions.
Little Mac himself is quite.... little. Depending on what version of the game you play, the character stands at 4' 8 or 5' 7. He is from Bronx, New York and has appeared in other famous titles like Super Smash Bros. His moves consist of classic boxing attacks like: the uppercut, jabs, hooks and even taunting.
Jon Bernthal's most recent project is a video game titled Ghost Recon Breakpoint. Bernthal plays Lt. Col. Cole D. Walker and is the main antagonist of the story being one of the Ghosts. The game has a Metacritic score of 58/100 for PC, 56/100 for PS4 and 62/100 for Xbox One.
