The first Alien film from director Ridley Scott came out decades ago and helped launch a franchise that consists of several films, some well-received and successful and others not so much. Now, a new rumor suggests the popular series may finally expand outside of the movie realm.

According to Omega Underground, there were some rumblings in the past that claimed Fox was considering an Alien TV show, and now the site has heard Fox may actually announce an official project soon, possibly in anticipation of the franchise's 40th Anniversary.

No specific details on the possible show were given, but the site says they were given the impression that any potential series would not focus on the iconic Xenomorphs and would merely be “set within that world.”

So, what do you think about the possibility of an Alien series? Is it something you’d like to see? Share your thoughts in the comments below.

Not such a bad idea, especially if they also develop a Predator series in which they can interconnect somewhere down the line, it's mostly all down to writing and execution

@Toecutter - Exactly. If its an Alien show, show the freaking Xenomorphs. Its like making a Predator show without the Predator. Complete stupidity.

They have my attention.
I'm not a big fan of the franchise, matter of fact, i actually like the recent prequel movies more than the OG stuff, so...
But it could be interesting.

Hey, usually I think this would sound stupid. But the way the movies have been going as of recent, I dont think this is a bad idea. It actually sounds pretty exciting.

I'll tune in. Allows more room for storytelling if anything. I'm sure Ridley Scott will be s producer.

@TheRationalNerd - it could work really well to see how they have affected other planets and civilizations.
