Jessica Chastain has been on many a fan's wishlist for a variety of different roles for quite a long time, but, unless you count Christopher Nolan's Interstellar, she's yet to make the leap into a big tentpole/CBM type property -- no matter how much she may want to. Chastain has previously expressed her desire to play a superhero after turning down a couple of comic book movie roles that she didn't think were up to much, but it turns out she's just as interested in Star Wars. Digital Spy asked her about it since her friend and A Most Violent Year co-star Oscar Isaac will be seen piloting an X-Wing in The Force Awakens, and she responded very positively to the idea. So Disney/Lucasfilm, I think I speak for everyone when I say: get this woman in a future Star Wars film. The relevant chat comes in towards the end of the interview.
"Yes, they never sent me the script. I would have absolutely been in Star Wars, I would have loved to be in Star Wars, I know they're going to make more so.. [points to herself].. Listen, I'm an actor because I love film I love going to the movies I love comedies and so many different kinds of films, sci-fi, drama, horror films I love them all. And I'd love to do anything it just has to be a good role. You know like I don't want to just stand there and hold a spoon, I really want to do something fun and I would absolutely would love it."
