Disney has announced plans to bring together some of the brightest stars in the Star Wars galaxy for the ultimate holiday family reunion, the LEGO Star Wars Holiday Special.

A poster has been shared by Lucasfilm today ahead of the film's premiere on Disney+ on Tuesday, November 17, a day also known as the fan-favorite holiday Life Day first introduced in 1978's Star Wars Holiday Special. Some big names have now been added to the cast, including Kelly Marie Tran (Rose Tico), Billy Dee Williams (Lando Calrissian), and Anthony Daniels (C-3PO).

Joining them are The Clone Wars veterans Matt Lanter (Anakin Skywalker), Tom Kane (Yoda, Qui-Gon Jinn), James Arnold Taylor (Obi-Wan Kenobi), and Dee Bradley Baker (clone troopers).

The LEGO Star Wars Holiday Special reunites Rey, Finn, Poe, Chewie, Rose and the droids for a joyous feast on Life Day. Rey sets off on a new adventure with BB-8 to gain a deeper knowledge of the Force. At a mysterious Jedi Temple, she is hurled into a cross-timeline adventure through beloved moments in Star Wars cinematic history, coming into contact with Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, Yoda, Obi-Wan and other iconic heroes and villains from all nine Skywalker saga films. But will she make it back in time for the Life Day feast and learn the true meaning of holiday spirit?

The animated film is a production of Atomic Cartoons, the LEGO Group, and Lucasfilm. It is directed by Ken Cunningham and written by David Shayne, who is also co-executive producer. James Waugh, Josh Rimes, Jason Cosler, Jacqui Lopez, Jill Wilfert and Keith Malone are executive producers.

Hey, it can’t be worse than the first Holiday Special, right?

I really didn't expect John Boyega or Oscar Isaac to come back considering how much they hated doing the last Star Wars movies. On the other hand, I'm more surprised about Daisy Ridley not being part of the special.

@Amuro - All three surprise me in some way. Same goes for the upcoming Lego Star Wars games. None of them lends their voice to it (or atleast they don't sound like them)

I really don't know if I'm gonna watch this if they're anything close to the other Star Wars shorts, although I'm hoping it's more like The Lego Movie or The Lego Batman Movie

@bkmeijer - I expect something akin to the Yoda Chronicles with characters meeting one another and reenacting classic scenes for the sake of fan-service, but all in good fun.
