STAR WARS: THE MANDALORIAN - Jon Favreau Shares A New Image Confirming That IG-88 Will Appear
Seemingly confirming the recent rumor that some classic bounty hunters will be showing up in The Mandalorian, Jon Favreau has shared an image of Empire's fan-favorite assassin droid, IG-88. Check it out...
Jon Favreau has given Star Wars fans an awesome Christmas present by confirming that IG-88 will be making an appearance in the first ever live-action series set in the galaxy far, far away.
This character was featured very briefly in The Empire Strikes Back along with fellow bounty hunters Boba Fett, Dengar, Bossk, Zuckuss and 4-LOM. Though we're not sure whether any of those others will be joining the assassin droid in The Mandalorian or not, it would gel with a recent rumor from Making Star Wars if Bossk, at least, were to appear.
Check out the image from Favreau's Instagram page below, and let us know what you think of this reveal in the usual place.
After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Wars universe. The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.
Taika Waititi (Thor: Ragnarok), Dave Filoni (Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Star Wars Rebels), Deborah Chow (Jessica Jones), Rick Famuyiwa (Dope) and Bryce Dallas Howard (Solemates) will all helm installments of the series.
There's no release date for The Mandalorian just yet, but it is expected to premiere on Disney+ at some point next year.
