Following yesterday's featurette, Paramount Pictures has officially released the full-length theatrical trailer for Ang Lee's highly-anticipated and über-ambitious sci-fi action thriller Gemini Man, which stars 2x Academy Award-nominee Will Smith (Aladdin) as two unique characters - Henry Brogan & Junior - that will find themselves pitted against one another by a former colleague-turned-villain, played by Academy Award-nominee Clive Owen (Inside Man), who's decided to eliminate the older Smith.

While plot details have mostly been kept under wraps, the trailers have revealed that Smith plays Henry Brogan, an elite assassin who suddenly finds himself being hunted by a mysterious young operative that knows his each and every move.

As you know by now, the mysterious agent, Junior, is actually himself... well, more accurately a de-aged version of Smith that is every bit as deadly, if not deadlier.

This story is not one that could have been told with cinema as we know it. However, thanks to incredible new digital technology, not only can we finally see both younger and older Will Smith embodied together on screen, but we can also experience the story in a deeply immersive way. It is my great fortune to be able to experiment and test the limits of what new digital cinema has to offer us. No less so to be able to work with two Will Smiths - One beautifully sophisticated, the other exuberantly honest. In my opinion, this is Will at his very best, and when the two come together, it is something truly magical. Further, the immense effort and technical skill of the crew in creating a new aesthetic, between the cinematography, art department, visual effects, and technical team, was both inspiring and heartwarming. I truly hope that this movie delivers a completely new theatrical cinematic experience to audiences across the world.” - Ang Lee, Director of GEMINI MAN

The emotional and physical challenges of making this film have been the most demanding of my career. Ang is pushing the limits to give people an experience in the movie theater that you can’t get anywhere else. This is not only an action film, but an exploration of what one’s younger self can ultimately teach one’s older self. I’m 50-years-old now, and the irony of becoming 23-year-old Junior in this film is that 23-year-old me wouldn’t have been ready for this experience or to take on this role. Our hope is that this story provides something for everyone -- never before seen cinematic wizardry, nuanced, relatable characters and next-level action.” - Will Smith, Starring in GEMINI MAN

I really want this to be good, between being a fan of Ang Lee and this being the only original $100m+ film releasing theatrically in 2019, but these trailers have felt way too generic for me outside of the advanced tech of a fully CG Big Willie Style. He looks like he's at least trying here though, he's just been coasting on his charisma for the last few years.
Still confused as to why Lee shot an action film in 120 FPS.

Glad to see an original Sci Fi action film coming out this year. Looks like a good role for Will Smith, enjoyed him in Aladdin as well, but he can bring a certain intensity to his more serious roles.

I'm one of the few people out there who liked MI2 (haven't seen it for a wwhile, so don't know how it's aged, and Face/Off is a classic so hopefully this is a hit for Lee.

@SpideyPuffsMJ - Apparently this script has been floating around Hollywood for years. Handed off from one to another.

I want more original sci fi but this is a tired concept.

@BlackBeltJones - I'm happy we still have Ad Astra out this year - especially since it's going to screen in competition at the Venice Film Festival so it'll probably be quality. The director being great and it looking as good as it does certainly helps

@SpideyPuffsMJ - lol That was one of the first things I thought, that I wondered if any of those who were REALLY angered and upset by Thrones s8 (I personally definitely not to that extreme), how long it'd take for them to notice his name on the script and if that would like automatically disqualify it for any

Let me guess. The bad guy sends the young version to go kill the older self. They do that cat and mouse dance for a while until they they join forces and battle the bad guy together.

@CplHicks - Question : Why did you only start asserting your superiority when Ripley spoke up about the chain of commands in Aliens? Was it to woo her or are you simply aloof before?
