Ridley Scott's long running idea for a prequel to
Alien, his box office smash that he was denied the director's chair for its sequel, has hit a few major bumps on the road to the silver screen. The prequel has been pushed back twice in the past few months. The film has also bounced seceral times gaining momentum enought to come close to casting, but another dangerous tragedy would always follow any good news.
Vulture reported months back that the prequel scored a title.
Paradise. This rumor was debunked by Fox representatives a few days later. But
Vulture was also was the first to report that director jon favreau was leaving the
Iron Man franchise that helped Marvel mold their cinimatic universe.
Vulture is reporting that actress Charlize Theron has passed on the Clint Eastwood’s directed film
J. Edgar in favor of the
Alien Prequel and that a script is being rewritten to extend her role:
Fox is having the role rewritten so that it’s larger and befitting, if not of Theron, than at least of someone of Theron’s stature. We’re also told that the South African beauty should get the new version of the Alien script sometime this week and make her decision soon.
The
Alien Prequel has no official cast or release date but is believed to be out some time in 2013.
