Celebrating the
Alien franchise's 40th anniversary, Audible is releasing a cinematic multicast audio dramatisation of William Gibson's unused
Alien 3 script. Considered the "father of cyberpunk," Gibson wrote the original script for
Alien 3 in 1987 as a sequel to
Aliens. Although it was never actually used by the studio, the script found its way online and became a cult hit among fans of the franchise.
Now it has been adapted into an terrifying and immersive audio dramatization, directed by Dirk Maggs. The brief synopsis teases:
The story begins with the Sulaco on its return journey from LV-426. On board the military ship are the cryogenically frozen skeleton crew of that film’s survivors: Ripley, Hicks, Newt and Bishop.
We travel aboard and hear an alarm blare. Our heroes are no longer alone....
Among the voice cast participating in the dramatization is
Aliens star Michael Biehn, who reprises his role as Corporal Hicks. He's also provided the voice of Bishop from the 1986 film. A teaser of the AUdible Original has been released online, which
you can listen to here.
Audible's
Alien 3 audio production will be released on May 30.
