First Full-Length Trailer For DOCTOR WHO Starring Peter Capaldi

We're a little over a month away from the debut of Peter Capaldi (World War Z as The Doctor, and the BBC have now released the first full-length trailer for the upcoming eighth series of Doctor Who featuring plenty of great new footage. And yes, that IS a T-Rex...

Not a bad teaser, although it's unlikely to convince those who don't consider themselves a fan of the series to tune in as the arrival of a new Doctor doesn't seem to have shaken up the popular show all that much! Matt Smith was the last actor to play The Doctor, and Peter Capaldi made a brief appearance as the twelfth incarnation of the character in the hugely popular "The Day of the Doctor" special. However, he didn’t officially take on the role until Smith regenerated into the World War Z actor in the following episode. Doctor Who returns to TV on Saturday, August 23rd.

The way he delivered the "into darkness" line was perfect

@ekrolo2: Agreed. They're being overused. You can't overuse super powerful villains, if the Doctor is just going to keep defeating them. This is like the Borg on Star Trek, where they get weaker each time Voyager encounters them.

ekrolo2 and Luminus@ You can't have a Doctor that doesn't encounter them. They are too important to his mythos and him as a character to just not have them.

I read the scripts. A bit hit and miss. Didn't watch the leaked episodes though.

I am loving the tone of Capaldi's Doctor. If it sticks to what we're seeing in these previews, he will undoubtedly be my favorite.

@ekrolo2 They need to use Daleks and Cyberman every season or they lost their rights.

To who? Who else could even think about claiming those rights?

The Daleks are only in one episode this series (Ep 2 "Into The Dalek"), but of course they put them in the trailer because they're his most iconic villains.

@JillyMcBeam Terry Nation and Gerry Davis, the creators of the monsters :) But they don't need to use like one full episode about Daleks or Cyberman... They can just make a flashback or scene, like in The Wedding of River Song and Waters of Mars.

If you watched the leaked episode (of course I won't spoil anything), you'll notice that the series became very dark and mature. I love it! Capaldi is such a great Doctor, and very different of all others!

The best thing is we got it in the UK before everyone else. Last years 50th. The first footage shown was to people at San Diego Comic-con and Its a British show. So we should be the first ones who get to see it.

It's black and white, no CGI and sound is bad. But there's Capaldi, and he's awesome! I don't recommend anyone to watch it (it's better to wait for the final cut), but you can already see it'll be great!

Can't wait for this shiz! I'm really excited for Capaldi and I hope the tone of the preview is the same throughout the season.
I can't ever get enough Dalek!
