Pop Music Gadfly is reporting that chart topper Katy Perry, who is best known for her hit singles "I Kissed a Girl" and "Hot n Cold," has been asked to sing the theme song to
Jurassic World. The film's director, Colin Trevorrow, is said to be a big fan of the pop-sensation, and is even considering her for a cameo in the film.
The new Jurassic Park movie is coming out in 2015, and guess who has been asked to sing the theme song? That’s right (all you had to do was look at the title), it’s pop music goddess Katy Perry. Director Colin Trevorrow is a HUGE Katy Perry fan and is optimistic that she will sing the theme song and possibly even appear in the movie.
However, I am told that as much as it would be an honor for Katy Perry to sing the theme song, 2015 will most likely be her year off. - Pop Music Gadfly
Update: One of the film's producers has debunked the rumor.
Late last month,
Deadline reported that Irrfan Khan had landed a role in
Jurassic World, but at the time had no details to share. Recently Khan was interviewed by
APB Live and he shared nice little nugget of info:
"We start filming from April in New Orleans and Hawaii. I have watched the first one. Because it is a (Steven) Spielberg production and the kind of writing they do, amazing. One scene of mine is just four lines but it says so much about so many things. I play a park owner." - Irrfan Khan
Jurassic World is being directed by Colin Trevorrow, from a screenplay written by Trevorrow and Derek Connolly. The story is set 22 years after the events of the first film. The cast includes: Chris Pratt ("Guardians of the Galaxy"), Irrfan Khan ("The Amazing Spider-Man"), Vincent D’Onofrio ("Men In Black"), Bryce Dallas Howard ("Spider-Man 3"), Ty Simpkins ("Iron Man 3") and Nick Robinson ("The Kings Of Summer").
Jurassic World stomps into theaters June 12th, 2015.
