The actress starred as Dr. Ellie Sattler in Steven Spielberg's 1993 blockbuster Jurassic Park, and made a cameo in Joe Johnston's Jurassic Park 3.

Laura Dern: I hear it’s happening. I think it’s got a ways to go. Steven is about to immerse himself in Lincoln, which is really exciting and something he’s poured his heart and soul into for a long time. I’m so excited because Daniel Day-Lewis is playing Lincoln. Once that’s finished, there’s always been talk that my character is deeply involved in [Jurassic Park 4] somehow, but I haven’t heard yet.


In 2007 Laura was asked to return to the role of Ellie, but that was when the movie was project to begin filming in 2008. Obviously that never came about, but Joe Johnston, who directed the third film in the franchise revealed plans of the fourth are slowly coming together. He said that he would be meeting with Steven Spielberg about another Jurassic Park film, and it would be a spinoff of the original trilogy. While Spielberg has said a few months ago that he would be meeting with writer Mark Protosevich to brainstorm.

Heh, I just finished rewatching the original film last night. I'd love to see her come back for a fourth film, as well as most of the main characters (Alan Grant, Ian Malcolm, etc). I'd love to see this film be made if done right.

Oh and on the subject: I would love to see another triology. I just hope they're not all individually like number 2, not that it was TERRIBLE, but could of been better.

I want to see some Military guys go out into the jungle where the Raptors or T-Rex live, and just start [frick]ing shit up. Then get overcome by the raptors/t-rex. Throw in some gore, and that's an updated version :P Although that's not what Jurassic Park was ever about.

I want to see nothing done with the Jurassic Park franchise for another few years and then I want a TV miniseries that actually includes everything from the book. Now THAT would be awesome.
