Ever since Jurassic World director Colin Trevorrow left for the galaxy far, far away to helm Star Wars: Episode IX, Universal has been searching for someone to step in and take the reigns of the rejuvenated, block-busting dino franchise. Recently Juan Antonio Bayona parted ways with the World War Z sequel, and Deadline now reports that he's someone we should keep an eye on to replace Trevorrow.
What does that mean exactly? Well, according to the site no actual negotiations have taken place, but Bayona has a close relationship with producer Frank Marshall and co., so although no offer is on the table, he could well be the man they want for the job. Of course there's just as much chance he isn't, but we'll update if and when we find out any more details.
How would you feel if Bayona did sign on to direct the next Jurassic World movie?
