JURASSIC WORLD's New T-Rex/Raptor/Cuttlefish Spliced Dino Gets A Name

JURASSIC WORLD's New T-Rex/Raptor/Cuttlefish Spliced Dino Gets A Name

Yesterday, JoBlo posted some scoops regarding Jurassic World. One bizarre piece of info was that the new big-bad dino would be spliced with T-Rex, Raptor and Cuttlefish DNA. So, what the hell are they calling it? Scified.com knows! Check it out!

JoBlo posted a lot of interesting rumors yesterday regarding Universal's fourth Jurassic Park film, which you can read by clicking here. One portion dealt with the latest dinosaur that will terrorize the park. That dinosaur is described as having "instant camouflage abilities, like the cuttlefish, so he blends into the background, is smart like the velociraptor, uses his jaw like a snake, and can terrorize like the T-Rex." Of course a dino that badass needs a name, here it is.
What JoBlo did not mention however, is the name of this super predator, which we now know, thanks to our source. The name of this new super predator is officially known as Diabolus Rex or "D-Rex" for short. The creature is a spliced breed of Tyrannosaur with bits of Raptor and Cuttle Fish, allowing it to camouflage itself with its surroundings. It's a badass and is the primary reason why things at this new park run amock.

Jurassic World is being directed by Colin Trevorrow, from a screenplay written by Trevorrow and Derek Connolly. The story is set 22 years after the events of the first film. The cast includes: Chris Pratt ("Guardians of the Galaxy"), Irrfan Khan ("The Amazing Spider-Man"), Vincent D’Onofrio ("Men In Black"), Bryce Dallas Howard ("Spider-Man 3"), Ty Simpkins ("Iron Man 3"), Judy Greer ("Two And A Half Men"), Katie McGrath ("Dracula"), Lauren Lapkus ("Orange is the New Black") and Nick Robinson ("The Kings Of Summer").

Jurassic World stomps into theaters June 12th, 2015.

This sounds [frick]ing stupid.

I lost faith in this movie when they were clamoring to just put it out there that no, there weren't going to be even partially feathered dinosaurs just to please some regressive fanboys.

As someone who LOVED the first Jurassic Park, I've been optimistic on Jurassic World so far...but this just seems a bit too much. I think the whole cuttlefish aspect is getting blown out of proportion a bit (it's just going to be camouflaged like the ones from the book), but inventing totally new dinosaurs is just really odd.

It's weird enough that no one seems to have learned from the events of the first movie and are going ahead with a dinosaur park that becomes ridiculously successful, but inventing a spliced-together dinosaur seems unnecessary when the T-Rex really should be the hero of the film (note the mild uproar from fans when the Spinosaurus in JP3 made the T-Rex look like a wuss). I'm getting a bit worried.

So now they are making up dinos for movies. Not a good idea IMO. They shold try to keep it to species that have actually been discovered.

Why not just use the Carnotaurus from the books, seeing how they're going to have the same abilities? what the hell is a "D-Rex" for pete's sake.

This idea sounds like strange move but lets try look on positive side for a sec here why this might actual work. Let me explain clearly we have a unethical and dangerous tampering with genetic once again there push the envelop even further creating this monster if we try look at this like Ian Malcolm would saying this is awful idea there mess with nature even more which will caused conflict in characters saying this is wrong these scientists/corporation are going too far. because they want to try to draw in more crowds of people to see this thing for entertain value. It might work JP already cover why its wrong bring back dinosaurs in first place now there mess with there DNA even further. I don't know I just wait see what happens.

Part T-Rex, part Raptor, part Cuttlefish... so it'll look something like this?

BlackIceJoe
BlackIceJoe - 5/21/2014, 9:35 PM
So this is true. Well I don't want to see Jurassic World anymore. As much as it would be cool to pet a T-Rex it just doesn't make sense to make them tame.

I love how stupid Movie Scientist are, "Hey lets make a Raptor as big as a T-Rex and give it camouflage! What could go wrong?"
