Jurassic World has been a box office smash as it became only the fourth movie in history to hit the $600 million mark in North America and just yesterday passed the $1.52 billion worldwide haul earned by The Avengers in 2012. Unsurprisingly, a sequel has now been announced by Universal, and it will be released on June 22nd, 2018. Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard are both confirmed to return, while Steven Spielberg will executive produce. Jurassic World director Colin Trevorrow is going to co-write alongside Derek Connolly, but there's currently no word on who will take the helm of this sequel. Are you guys looking forward to another instalment of the franchise?

I bet that Jurassic War will be the official title.

I don't know WHAT the hell this one is going to be about (dinosaurs take over the planet?) but they already have my money! Jurassic World was dope

2018. So it's going to destroy The Flash, Infinity War, Black Panther, Aquaman, and Captain Marvel.

Just as long as they don't try to re-open the damn park again I'll be happy.

Shit! Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait....does this mean no Star-Lord and friends in Infinity War? Even worse, if IWparts1&2 really are filmed back to back...then no Star-Lord at all?

That's cool with me. I'll watch. Don't make much sense to reopen the park. You could have nefarious types secretly creating dinosaurs around the world or something to that effect. Or maybe people really are dumb enough to go back to the only theme park where the attractions eat you.

Film was just ok. I saw it opening night with the Director himself who came out to watch it with us at the Chinese theater in Hollywood. My main issue with the film is the CGI. You have the money Universal- make animatronics damnit!

Also there's no way this film is going to be as successful as Jurassic World. Just sayin.

JURASSIC NATION: dinosaurs are set loose on American soil and make an urban metropolis their own private reserve

JURASSIC WARS: Dinosaur special op soldiers as ridiculous as that sounds

Only possible paths for this franchise. I think they should leave it be. JW was fun but... JUST STOP PLEASE.

The epitome of cynicism blockbuster. This just isn't built for a franchise. Jurassic World is the most lackadaisical attempt in innovating a rehashed series.

This is 2 weeks before the release of the Black panther.

Jurassic World 2 (uni) - 6/22/18
How to Train Your Dragon 3(Fox) - 6/29/18
Black Panther(BV) - 7/6/18
Untitled Fox / Marvel(Fox) - 7/13/18
Animated Spider-Man(Sony) - 7/20/18

Black panther is in a terrible release date, a lot of competition.

I'm all for it, as long as it doesn't feature the dino-human hybrids... Shouldn't it really be Jurassic Park 5, though?

Maybe if they actually do something different and dont follow the same formula. Kids come to visit, dinosaurs get loose, kids get lost, grown up find the kids, everyone escape the island.

I want the next Jurassic Park to be a serious courtroom drama dealing with the consequences of the events that took place in Jurassic World.

Call it Jurassic Park v Humanity :P

@usagent94

They originally intended to have human-dinosaur hybrids in Jurassic World. It's a good bet for the sequel.
