With the script for Star Trek 2 due around Christmas time, and director JJ Abrams working on his Speilberg tribute Super 8,Viacom COO Tom Dooley revealed that JJ Abrams hasn't signed on to direct the sequel.



According to Digital Spy, "J.J. Abrams has not yet agreed to be the director of the upcoming sequel to Star Trek, it has been revealed. Abrams, who directed the first Star Trek, is currently busy filming his secret project Super 8. The script for the second Star Trek movie will reportedly be finished by Christmas and the studio is eager to begin production."

Star Trek 2 has a release date of June 29,2012

Hmmm my penis but on a serious note he should have just signed up seriously I believe a start trek sequel without would be crap knowing my luck they'll hire Michael Bay stra trek the new one got me into it and I really want to a see another one I really believe this film deserves a sequel.

JJ Abrams stepped down from a god tier Star Trek. Someone should be able to carry the torch.

he should direct the sequel he done a fantastic job on the first film,but if he doesn't sign on the dotted line.

maybe he could direct a comic property of marvels,some epic cosmic hero,like nova that would be cool.

chris pine for nova & jj abrams directing comic book perfection.

Don't worry. He'll direct it. I'm a lifelong Trek (and Wars) fan. I loved the Trek universe before Abrams although the last movie, Nemesis, sucked hard. He did a great job with the reboot without wiping out everything that came before it.

@deadpool72 - You are right. Chris Pine would be perfect for Richard Rider.

Dear god I hope he returns. Been a Trekkie for years (and yeah I was a trekkie BEFORE the reboot wow what a concept lol) but i loved the reboot and how they approached it. At first i got a little upset they erased the TOS universe but it makes sense to bring in NEW fans too ;)

Please Abrams...RETURN!!
