Season 3 of The Mandalorian wrapped-up on Wednesday, and the episode really did play out more like a series finale than the conclusion to a season. The show is expected to return at some point, but even if it doesn't, we know Din Djarin and Grogu's story will continue on the big screen.
We got confirmation during Star Wars Celebration that Dave Filoni will direct an untitled Star Wars movie that will serve as a culmination of the stories playing out in the Disney+ shows (the ones set in and around the same timeline, at least).
We don't have too much to go on just yet, but while speaking to Rotten Tomatoes, Filoni revealed that his film will take inspiration from the final instalment of the divisive Prequel trilogy... but only when it comes to the scale of the battle scenes!
Several The Mandalorian cast members also weighed in on why they feel Filoni is the right man to helm this particular movie.
The Mandalorian featured some pretty impressive battle sequences in its own right, but it sounds like fans can expect this mysterious adventure in the Galaxy Far, Far Away to up the ante considerably.
