George Lucas' Biographer Spills Possible Details On STAR WARS: EPISODE VII And Beyond

Dale Pollock, the author of an unauthorized George Lucas biography, has revealed some possible details about Lucas' outline for the next three Star Wars movies, claiming that they focus on a 'Luke Skywalker' in his 40s and that an outline exists for a further three films.

Take this with a pinch of salt. Dave Pollock once wrote an unauthorized George Lucas biography ("Skywalking: The Life And Films Of George Lucas") and despite interviewing the filmmaker over 80 times, Lucas was not a fan of the book and the two have no sort of relationship these days. It's perfectly plausible that Pollock is now doing little more than attention seeking, and despite claiming that he signed a confidentiality agreement, he has revealed the following details about Lucas' outlines for another SIX Star Wars movies.

The stories for the next trilogy will be "the most exciting" in the series, the biographer told The Wrap earlier today. "It was originally a 12-part saga. The three most exciting stories were 7, 8 and 9. They had propulsive action, really interesting new worlds, new characters. I remember thinking, 'I want to see these 3 movies.'" The series will apparently feature a Luke Skywalker in his 30s and 40s, making it unlikely that the 61 year old Mark Hamill will return. So, what if Disney decide not to use Lucas' outline? "Writers will absolutely take his outline. That’s in part what Disney bought." What do you guys make of these claims?

Well know that it was originally supposed to be 9 films, hence "Middle Trilogy", but perhaps he considered 12, at one point.
To get the actors at the age they are now means they could skip the sequels that happen in the novels and start with an even younger generation.
Hamill, Fisher and Ford are absolutely essential. And don't forget a bit of Billy Dee Williams.

Dionysios@ Yeah, man, he would. He was a bit dark in Jedi, many years playing The Joker later and he'd be an awesome slightly dark mentor-esque character.

They can't be the focus, they can work in cameos (especially Ford), but that's it.

I happen to think it would be really interesting to see a Luke in his forties re-establishing the Jedi order and rebuilding a new world with a focus and the Jedi arts. Seeing them slowly building the Star Wars universe back to the times of the Old Republic would be really interesting and amazing.

They should focus on a younger cast. I wouldn't mind Mark Hamill, Billie Dee Williams, Carrie Fisher & Harrison Ford making a cameo. But again, focus on a group of younger characters.

Harrison Ford looks well for his age, however Mark and Carrie are in really bad shape.

That is definitely not how Carrie Fisher currently looks, watch the episode of Spoilers that she's on, she is still a perfectly fit and attractive older lady. Dont know what that pic above is from but it certainly can't be recent

No one can play the characters apart from Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford, and they can't really play the parts either anymore because they're a bit too old and look nothing like they used to.

OK... Maybe Harrison Ford could return.

If they absolutely HAVE to make Episode VII and onward, they should probably just explain in the opening crawl that Luke Skywalker established the New Jedi Order which has been maintaining peace in the galaxy for a very long time, and have the film take place with totally new characters, or with the old characters having died before the time of the film. If they return... well, it's going to look incredibly cheesy.

But I still think more Star Wars films is a bad idea.

I think they should use Hamill, Fisher, and Ford as the wise older generation, but focus on new younger characters. Would be cool if each of these three died in each movie with Skywalker going out last:)

i agree or show the falcon & the imperial shuttle that luke escaped in at the end of return of the jedi leaving endor when something comes out of light speed & takes both ships out without us looking once in the cockpit.

hence on screen death sorted without an appearence from original cast.

@grif- We are in agreement my furry peer. Your beloved Star Wars fantasies would not even exist without these three people. For all we know you would be geeking Battlestar Gallactica instead...what an ugly, ugly world that would be.

I have heard this talk before, in fact it is mentioned in one of Lucas' interviews that came attached to one the copies of Star Wars released many moons ago. I would take this with more than a grain of salt.

The problem with Lucas' perfectionism is that it is the sloppiest perfectionism in Hollywood. He wants to get the story right time and time again but he overthinks it too much. Disney can execute. We know this to be true by simply looking at what they have accomplished with Marvel. You don't see Warner's doing executions like Disney. (What a great Halloween pun.)

Howard the Duck, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skulls, Phantom Menace, and dare I say the Star Wars Christmas Special are all examples of getting sloppy with beautiful conceptualization. I think a lot of us realate to George in that way. We have in our heads great conceptions but to put ink to paper it falls apart.

Going back to the Christmas Special...FINALLY we can get this thing on home video...and possible a RiffTrax to go with it.

im good with us following a new cast, younger and whatever. but they CAN NOT keep hamill, fischer, ford, williams, etc out. they MUST include them in some manner, like supporting or whatever.
