Joss Whedon Shares His Thoughts On STAR WARS EPISODE VII And J.J. Abrams
Revealing that he would have loved the opportunity to helm Star Wars Episode VII, the director confesses to having "a moment of rue" over the fact that he was already committed to The Avengers 2 and shares his thoughts on J.J. Abrams getting the job.
"There was a moment of rue that I was already committed," Joss Whedon admitted in a recent interview with Empire Online when asked how he felt about being unable to helm Star Wars Episode VII. The director is of course no stranger to the world of sci-fi and a movie such as this one seems tailor made for the man who brought us Firefly and its superb big screen follow-up, Serenity. However, Whedon was and still is already hard at work on a sequel to the biggest superhero movie of all-time, Marvel's The Avengers. "I'm not going to lie, because who didn't want to do that as a kid? But I think they got the right guy so just knowing that I'm going to enjoy the film when it comes out is great. I don't even have to do any work. Can J.J. also make Avengers...?" So, like most fans, Whedon clearly approves of the Star Trek director being the one to usher in a new wave of Star Wars movies. It is pretty interesting to wonder what a Joss Whedon helmed Star Wars and J.J. Abrams directed The Avengers 2 might look like though, wouldn't you agree?
