Lucasfilm Rumored To Be Developing A WHAT IF...?-Inspired STAR WARS Animated Or Live-Action TV Series

While we're taking this rumour with a pinch of salt for now, it's been reported that Lucasfilm might be developing a What If...?-style Star Wars TV series exploring the World Between Worlds. Check it out!

We recently learned of plans for Ahsoka to take its title character back to the World Between Worlds. A relatively new concept, Star Wars Rebels established it as a mystical plane within the Force that served as a collection of doors and pathways existing between time and space, linking all moments in time together.

Needless to say, that sounds an awful lot like a Multiverse to us!

In Ahsoka, it's said we're going to see an alternate timeline where it was Ahsoka Tano who faced Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader on Mustafar in place of Obi-Wan Kenobi.

Now, Giant Freakin Robot (via SFFGazette.com) claims we'll also catch a glimpse of a reality where Ahsoka decided to serve Vader after giving in to the Dark Side. This lines up with much of what we've been hearing about the Disney+ series, but the site has another supposed scoop.

We'd advise taking this with a pinch of salt given their track record, but the site seems convinced Lucasfilm is planning a What If...?-style TV series which will explore the Star Wars franchise's many alternate timelines.

While Marvel Studios has obviously beaten them to the punch with this concept, the Galaxy Far, Far Away is perfectly suited to a show like this. What If Anakin had never become Darth Vader? What If Obi-Wan Kenobi trained Princess Leia? Those are just a couple of questions which barely scratch the surface of what a spin-off like this could do.

It's unclear whether this would be a live-action or animated project, though the latter seems more likely. Episodes similar to Tales of the Jedi could explore the World Between Worlds and we'd guess Dave Filoni will be heavily involved...if it ever really happens.

However, we've been hearing similar rumblings so fingers crossed the project doesn't get lost amid the strikes and Disney CEO Bob Iger's plans to scale back on the number of Star Wars TV shows on Disney+!

They already explored this concept years ago: it’s called Star Wars Infinities.

What if Episode 7 had been an original concept, that built on Episode 6 instead of negating it completely.

The only What If's I want to see is.....What if Lucas never sold Star Wars to Disney?

What if Disney actually used Lucas' concepts for the Star Wars sequels?

What if Disney didn't crap on Luke Skywalker?

What if Kennedy didn't hire Rian Johnson and approve his butchery of Episode 8?

What if they actually gave us fans a chance to see Han, Chewie, Luke and Leia together one more time before Carrie Fisher died?

What if Iger had a clue and fired Kennedy when he first saw the trilogy was going downhill?

And What if they actually have a sh-t about the Star Wars fans?

What if Vader decided against making inquisitors and instead trained a single apprentice in secret to both fight the remaining jedi then ultimately help him to kill the emperor?

Wait...

If it's gonna have okay animation like Marvel's What if?, just take all that money and invest it in Visions instead.

What If? Luke joined Vader and ruled the galaxy.

What If? The Battle For Endor was on The Wookee home world, no Ewoks.

What If? Luke had killed Vader.
