New ROGUE ONE: A STAR WARS STORY Still Released; Felicity Jones Comments On Her "Unlikely Heroine"
Following the release of that epic trailer, another official Rogue One: A Star Wars Story still has found its way online. Felicity Jones meanwhile weighs in on Jyn Erso's place in the Rebellion...
Thanks to Entertainment Weekly, we have a new look at Felicity Jones as Jyn Erso in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Like Finn and Rey before her, the character looks set to become an instant fan-favourite, but in an interview with the magazine, the Oscar winning actress admitted to being an unconventional heroine. After all, at just 5'3", Jones isn't what you'd normally expect from a war movie's lead star.
"She is absolutely a very unlikely heroine. She’s someone on the edges and fringes of society. Physically, she’s smaller than everyone else around her. When someone has something they believe in, that’s what powers them, that’s what motivates them, that’s what can give someone enormous strength." As for how women are viewed in the Rebellion, she added: "I would say there’s a huge amount of respect for women. Mon Mothma is ultimately, for Jyn, someone she looks up to. So even as the film opens [Jyn] has a strong female role model in front of her, and someone she respects."
