Saoirse Ronan Confirms STAR WARS EPISODE VII Audition

The young actress has admitted that she has indeed went in and read for a role in J.J. Abrams' upcoming Star Wars flick, but is reluctant to elaborate too much, suggesting that she's only one of many actors that have auditioned. Read on for more..

Latino Review first broke the news that she'd gone in for a reading, and now Saoirse Ronan has confirmed to Sky News she has auditioned for a role in Star Wars Episode VII -- while adding; "so has everyone". We already figured Abrams and co. were casting a wide net for this one, so it's likely that every name we've heard pop up in connection with the movie may very well have auditioned. Ronan doesn't say WHICH role she's read for (it's rumored to be the part of Han Solo and Princess Leia’s daughter), and when pressed she responds that film bosses would "chop off her head with a light-sabre" if she revealed any more.

I saw her in Hanna, she's a good actress. If she joins, I'll have no problem with it.

Also, any word if the Daniel Day-Lewis rumor is true?

@Nubase I get where your coming from...but the actors and actresses matter as well.

One of the big complaints in the prequel trilogy was the acting. When you don't have good actors that fit their roles, nothing in the movie will feel right.

Shit actress. Shit franchise. If she gets cast, she'll be forgettable. Not even Abrams can make her a good actress. Hopefully he makes an interesting and good Star Wars movie. I like Star Wars for creativity but outside of that and Lucas coming up with Industrial light & Magic, these movies suck

EdgyOutsider ,She's actually very talented whether she is right for Star Wars thats another matter but she is not a shitty actress , she's one of the youngest people ever to be nominated for an Oscar dip wit .

ndwwrestler12: Cause I can't help but continue to voice my intense dislike for Ms. Ronan. I dislike her as much as I do Alfonso Cuaron. I am also an Abrams fan so, I believe I am allowed to be here and cause I'm curious who will be in the film.

Opencurtain. Maggie Gyllenhaal also was nominated for one (I think she won it too) but, that doesn't mean I agree she is a good actress. She's the untalented Gyllenhaal sibling. Soairse Ronan, I believe never deserved that nomination. She's not believable in anything she's in and she is just so flat, she brings no dimensions to her characters. A razzie would be more suitable.

EdgyOutsider ,it only makes you look stupid when you use words like "shitty actress" to describe Saoirse Ronan ,please grow up or is it you're only 12 ? If so then I'll cut you some slack .....
