SPOILER: Mads Mikkelsen Reveals The Identity Of His ROGUE ONE: A STAR WARS STORY Character

The identities of several of the key Rogue One: A Star Wars Story players still remain a mystery, but we can scratch one off the list. Mads Mikkelsen was quizzed about his upcoming roles in both Doctor Strange and Rogue One during an interview with Sky News, and seemingly inadvertently revealed a very interesting and important detail about his character in the latter.

“I read the script. It was very beautiful and Felicity’s playing this lovely, strong woman [and] I play her father, and… uhh, that’s too much, I’m sorry!”

You should be sorry Mads, you've just launched a thousand think pieces.

Seriously though, that is a pretty big reveal when you think about it. The Rogue One trailer seems to imply that Jyn is a complete loner without a family, so it's possible that her reconnecting with her estranged dad Galen (yep, Mikklesen previously let that slip too) is one of the film's major plot points.

Anyway, we'll let you guys speculate away. Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is set to be released on December 16th.

I could've sworn we knew this. But this pretty much confirms it.

@Kr08 - I remember a rumour about him playing Felicity Jones' characters father a couple months back. I think it was also in the rumour where his character is supposed to be working for the Empire but betrayed them with the Death Star plans.

Wait damn I read that wrong. Read it as he's playing the father of the main character in Star Wars as in A New Hope

This guy is incredible. Wouldn't mind seeing him as a Sith, either.

So-he's the father of another female lead actor in the new Star Wars revolution? Okay. I was thinking he may be a love interest of a young Poe.

I haven't read the article yet. Could someone tell me how spoiler-y it actually is? Like, will it be a shock in the theater?

I hadn't heard this rumored before. And even if it was floating around, that's all it was until now. A Rumor.

In the same interview he said that Rouge One is inberween episode 7 and 8 and he couldn't remember if Darth Vader is in the film, he has no idea what he is talking about so I would take this news with a pinch of salt.
