Star Wars: The Last Jedi was definitely a divisive instalment in the Skywalker Saga, but in recent months, most fans have put their issues with the movie aside... because they're busy debating The Rise of Skywalker instead! The final chapter from J.J. Abrams and Chris Terrio was somehow even more divisive than what Rian Johnson delivered, and is likely to be argued over for years to come.

Regardless of how you happen to feel about either movie, though, it's always, fun to take a look behind the scenes.

Thanks to Johnson, we now have a fresh opportunity to do just that, as these new photos reveal a lot of love on the set of The Last Jedi, including a great shot of Mark Hamill's Luke Skywalker alongside Master Yoda.

Johnson has also shared his thoughts on the news that Taika Waititi is heading to a Galaxy Far, Far Away for a new Star Wars movie. The filmmaker is supposedly attached to an entire trilogy, but we've heard nothing about that for a while, and he's now thought to be working on a Knives Out sequel instead.

Knives Out was one of my favorite films of last year. Can't wait to see more of Benoit Blanc.

@WakandanQueen - I hope next time he's not that heavy with the foreshadowing in the first act. It was a surprisingly good and fun movie but he basically spoiled the ending and the killer for me there.

I really wonder if his Star Wars project is still happening. Atleast there seem to be no hard feelings

Just waiting for that classic, sweet and inevitable @CaptShipwreck comment.

If you know....you know.

Is Rise of the Skywalker that divisive? Over what? I get that a lot of the anger for The Last Jedi comes over certain moments and character choices and that led to debate, but Rise of Skywalker just seems kind of shoddily told in general. I wouldn’t think that would split people as much, but maybe it has more defenders than I thought.

@Chewtoy - I made a Justice League/The Rise of Skywalker comparison yesterday but here's another.

Man of Steel comes out and it's okay, of course, there are those who thought it sucked from the very beginning. Then comes Batman v Superman and its divisive at first, those that think it's good and bad do so to the nth degree (it's either the worst or best thing you've ever seen). Then Justice League comes out and it's bad across the board. Now there's no divisiveness to Batman v Superman, we just accept that it sucked. Man of Steel too but there's still a bit of eh in that one. If you still insist that they're good then you're a lunatic with no standards or a child.

I think it's clear but if you don't get what I mean; swap The Force Awakens for Man of Steel, The Last Jedi for Batman v Superman, The Rise of Skywalker for Justice League.

Rogue One can be Wonder Woman, Solo can be Suicide Squad, or vice versa.

Saw this for the first time last night. I think the director did his best to make fans happy.

TLJ imo was Rian Johnson obviously trying to be edgy and more concerned with him leaving his fingerprint on the sequel trilogy which I feel had a great starting template with TFA, and TROS was an obvious Disney cleanup to the point where it was laughable.
