Disney and Lucasfilm haven't shied away from revealing some big moments in the trailers for
Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, including a Dark Side Rey who appears to have given into her darker impulses. We'll find out next week whether that's just a vision or something more but EFX Collectibles has now revealed a replica of her impressive new lightsaber.
Limited to 750 pieces worldwide, this replica is based on a detailed study of the actual prop and reference materials supplied by the Lucasfilm production team. This lightsaber is screen accurate not only in the geometry, but down to the detailed weathering, as well. Also, the hinge mechanism is the same one that was used in the actual prop which is particularly impressive.
As we mentioned, we have no idea whether Rey really will be turned to the Dark Side or how much screentime this lightsaber will have. Cheaper replicas are bound to be released in the coming months and years but whether they'll be anywhere near as impressive as this is hard to say.
