Jai Courtney Comments On Joining The Cast Of TERMINATOR: GENESIS As 'Kyle Reese'

In a recent interview with IGN Movies to promote Divergent, Australian actor Jai Courtney was asked to share his thoughts on joining the cast of Alan Taylor's Terminator: Genesis. "I've always had a bit of skepticism about something being rebooted. I remember when [A Good Day to] Die Hard came around a few years ago, I was like, 'Really? They're gonna make another one?' and then I found myself in it and totally invested in it. I think it's healthy to have that [skepticism] because you want it to be something [special], you want to keep that eye for quality sharp." As for why he then decided to sign up for the movie which will apparently take place in a variety of periods, he added: "But when I read this, I was pretty into it and the story's cool. It's attached a great cast as well. I think Emilia Clarke's wonderful and she's got a lot of support and stuff behind her. And Jason Clarke as well I'm a big admirer of so, yeah, it's gonna be really cool, man. I'm looking forward to doing that, and running around with Arnie won't be too bad." Directed by Thor: The Dark World helmer Alan Taylor, Terminator: Genesis also stars Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jason Clarke and Emilia Clarke, with a release date set for July 1st, 2015.

Meh, not really a good actor. Die Hard 5 sucked. Bruce Willis look bored the whole time. Jai Courtney didn't help make it better. I have low expectations for this.

Watching "A Good Day to Die Hard" for the first time right now. Not buying him as John's son. As for him being cast as Reese, guess I'll have to wait and see.

Wtf A Good day to Die hard was cool. Bruce Willis looked bored because that was the whole point of Mclaine's character. Nobody wants to [frick]ing go to Russia, lol. And Courtney is a great actor. You [frick]ers need to chech out Spartacus season 1.

In my mind Terminator ended with T2. Nothing exists afterwards. The machines were stopped. End of Story. End of Line, Man.

Die hard 5 was awful. Too bad he doesn't realize that. I would never drop that in a million years.

1 good movie out of 4 does not make a good franchise.

I liked him in Spartacus. A lot. He was pretty forgettable in everything else, though, and imo he's just wrong for Reese.

I really really hated Die Hard 5 and part of the reason why i disliked the film so much was because of this actor. It seemed like he was reading his lines in a monotone voice and it looked as though he was not interested in the film in the first place.

I agree with Doom. Terminator Genesis is doomed and it'll bomb.

Like Robocop 2014 it will tank in the US. But like Robocop 2014 and Iron Man 3 it will be huge in Power Ranger, Godzilla, Spice Girls, Hasslehoff loving countries and make enough money to warrant more garbage.

I wish China and the US would get pissed at each other again so China would stop supporting films like Robocop and Marvel's garbage.
