Before Terminator Salvation hit theaters Director McG is in talks with TERMINATOR 2: JUDGEMENT DAY star Robert Patrick to make a return to his evil robot role in a future instalment in the hit franchise.

McG is at the helm of the fourth movie, Terminator Salvation, and is lined up to direct the fifth movie of the blockbuster franchise.

McG seems to be eyeing the 51 year old Patrick for the upcoming project. Patrick was known as the villainous metal shapeshifter T-1000 in JUDGEMENT DAY.

Patrick reveals, "Yeah, he talked to me about it. I'm interested. I was listening to him tell me about it. I had no idea that he thought about that.

He went on to say "I love McG. He's a great guy... we saw each other and he talked to me about it, so we'll see what happens. The sci-fi genre, and specifically that character, is something I'm very proud of. It's what broke me out big to the world."

Well there you have it folks we may just see the return of one of the coolest movie villains, though Patricks age doe raise some concern for this fan. But I would still be stoked to see him in another Terminator.

I guess, but it doesn't really need him. If the story would be helped by his appearance then by all means, get him in the movie. But if they just want him in cuz he was badass in the 2nd Terminator movie and it would be "cool" for him to return, then leave him out...

I think he'd be kewl. I saw him in a recent film he hasn't aged as much as Arnold Swartzane..gedigger. They could like put some make-up on him and use special effects to make him look younger or somethin.

Isn't he kind of old looking to reprise his role? The robots would look the same coming off an assembly line. That was one of the trailers in the second one. They were coming off an assembly line! Patrick is too old.

You know what they should do now is that at the end of the fourth installment, he meets his father [though, he doesnt know that him]...if not in this one at least the fifth one, and then he sends his father to the past to prevent this "This should create the cycle that never ends"....and for the final installment...they sent ARNOLD BACK. That way it completes the story....it ties the knot.

Because for them to not send his father or even arnold back wouldnt make sense....didnt they say that they will keep trying to go back and kill you? they will never stop until your dead?

....well, maybe they should end it with arnold coming out of the shadows and bale sending arnold back....which would be terminator 2: judgement day [of course]....and the series ends with arnold going back. I think that be awesome, personally being faithful to the franchize and all.

Either that or they need to end this damn war already lol

Ah. Ok, thanks. My tax-raising "Republican" governor, right.

My fav.

Thanks Arnold for your steadfastness! Loved <---(see the "d"?) your movies!

What a RINO. I voted for the other guy. GRRrrrr. ITs because of that guy and W. that I left that party. Sorry, got political. (sighs)

Don't worry about it Phin. I'm a stalwart Republican on all issues except gambling. I strongly believe in the right to bear arms, because I have been in a situation were a gun saved not only my life, but possibly those of my mother girlfriend and sister.

The only thing that I don't really agree ith my party on is gambling, I enjoy gambling, alot, and I am good at it. My nickname in college was gambit, I did not have to work my freshmen or sophmore year. Most of the other people in the dorm payed for everything.lol

I've known about this for a few days now and since I heard the news I still haven't been able to process how I feel about it. I guess a lot depends on how the new one comes out. I'm putting a lot of faith in it and if it lives up to my expectations then I'll trust the judgment of McG and therfore if he feels that he can successfully work Robert Patrick into the story then I'll trust his decision.

One thing that will be tough is the fact that Robert Patrick's appearance is clearly significantly older. His face has rounded out and he isn't the young-looking guy he was in "T2." These days I don't even know what they're capable of so I'm sure they have the technology to make him look like a 5-year-old boy if they wanted to. And considering how much all this stuff has advanced in the last 10 years and then considering that they were able to film the rest of "The Crow" after Brandon Lee was killed back in 1993 then they should be able to figure something out. That was 16 years ago this week. You can't tell which scenes in "The Crow" are him and which are digitally replaced so just think of what they are capable of doing now.

It will be interesting to see exactly how big of a role they have in mind for him, and even more specifically, how big of a role they have in mind for the T-1000s. Maybe their intentions are to have them be the main threat to the Resistance throughout the film. Or maybe it'll just end up being a somewhat small role or even a cameo showing him do a few things in the future and then get sent back in time.

Basically, I think this has the potential to be really cool. I guess the main reason is that it would be bringing back an actor from when the franchise was still excellent-- much like they are doing with having Linda Hamilton do some narrating in this one-- other than Arnold and someone who won't be in the film for the sheer purpose of his box office draw but for the fact that it will link the old films to the new ones in what will HOPEFULLY be done in a way that isn't forcing it. (For example, Dr. Silberman showing up at the graveyard as a trauma counselor to speak with Kate Brewster was totally trying to force a connection to the first 2 films and was an absolutely horrible idea.)

We'll see how "Terminator: Salvation" goes and if it's even close to as good as I expect it to be then we can start getting excited to see how they expect to work this idea out.

You don't need to worry about Arnold doing it cause he won't. And as far as Robert Patrick goes, did you even read what I wrote? Maybe their plan is to make him appear younger with some CGI'ing. Let's wait to see what they do before passing judgment.
