The TERMINATOR: GENISYS Sequel Has Been Scrapped By Paramount Pictures

According to a recent report, Paramount Pictures has officially removed the Terminator: Genisys follow-up from their release schedule. What does this mean for the franchise’s future? Click on...

While the latest Terminator film racked up $440.5 million worldwide (the second highest grossing film of the franchise), the film was panned by critics and many fans, mainly for its lack of depth. Terminator: Genisys (which starred Jai Courtney, Emila Clarke, and Arnold Schwarzenegger) was allegedly supposed to start a new trilogy, however, after the film underperformed, those plans were sidelined.

According to a new report by The Wrap, the ‘Genisys’ sequel, billed as “Terminator 3,” has been removed from Paramount’s release schedule. The film was originally set to hit the big screen on June 29, 2018, which would have pitted it against Fox/Marvel’s untitled 2018 project.

Paramount hasn’t released an official statement as of yet, however, their upcoming CinemaCon panel should shine light on the franchise's future, while presumably providing information about James Cameron and Tim Miller's 2019 reboot

I'm a big terminator fan but i think this should be it. No more movies, this franchise has been destroyed enough as it is.

I'm kinda hoping they kill the franchise. Its run its course at the moment. Wait 20 - 30 years then reboot.

Yep, this franchise was perfect with the first two, although the third with all its faults had a great twist ending, but the twist also meant that Sarah Connors work in 2 was to no avail which sucked.

If they do want to carry on, my pitch would be: John Connor sends a terminator back from 20years after the war with the machines is over to alter the outcome of one of his bigges missiont failures during the war that cost him the life of the only woman he ever loved, but savings her may turn the tide in the machines favour.

GOOD. Now I'll go back to telling myself that Terminator 1 & 2 were the only ones ever made. Rise of the Machines? Salvation? GENISYS?! Never happened!! *chugs whole bottle of mouth wash and punches self in the face 12 times before jumping out of helicopter at another helicopter and the other helicopter blows up because I hit the helicopter* Looks like our guy Arnie won't be back this time

After rewatching this again on television it really picked some off the wall changes to the original story, to which it's likely no writer could fix all the Fcuk ups... it's really quite terrible after they get to 2017 and then robotic John Conner arrives and that's when this movie franchise died. The hero of the series turned into the villain. Nice twist...Like who the eff thought of the idea to have another advanced robot fight the T-800... like that's never been done before (sarcasm)...

Please don't reboot, just let The Terminator and T-2 Judgement Day alone as classic sci-fi films they are.

I mean seriously... the T-1000 in T-2 FROM 1991 was better than the garbage this movie put together. Just sad...

Good maybe the rights will revert back to Cameron. Just leave it alone for two years universal.

Wasn't "terrible" but compared to Terminator 1&2, yeah......they need to take a step back and rethink the franchise.

Really wanna see Emilia in more blockbusters though. Thought she did a pretty good job, surprisingly to me, in that role.
