When talented Hail, Caeser! star Alden Ehrenreich was cast as the young Han Solo, quite a few people came around to the idea of an origin story for the legendary Star Wars character - and of course it helps that he's shown such enthusiasm for the role up to this point.

Variety caught up with Ehrenreich at the premiere of his new movie, Rules Don't Apply, and although he obviously couldn't give too much away he did express excitement at the prospect of working with Donald Glover (who was recently cast as Lando Calrissian), and confirmed the inclusion of a younger incarnation of Chewbacca.

"I'm allowed to say that I’m really excited about Donald Glover’s casting. I think he’s going to be great in the role because he’s such a talented and interesting guy. And I can say that Chewbacca’s in the film, although I know that’s not a huge spoiler. He’s as much younger as I am in the film, so, I think he’s like 190 — or something — years old. I don’t think there’s a huge growth spurt for him from 190 to 210, so he’s probably about the same height.”

Hopefully that means we might see Peter Mayhew reprise the role of Chewie. The as-yet untitled Han Solo anthology movie is set to hit theaters on May 25, 2018.

Mayhew only did scenes where Chewbacca was sitting in TFA.

Be interesting to see Chewie. A veteran of the Clone Wars, enslaved by the Empire for the past ten years. Really, Chewie should be vicious and angry, his gentleness ripped out of him by the Empire and it takes kindness by Han to bring him out of it.

@SpideyPuffsMJ - i haven't seen it, as I can't stnad George Clooney's self-righteous antics and holier-than-thou political opinions. But I do usually enjoy the Cohen Brothers' movies. I have been hearing bad things about this one though.

@SpideyPuffsMJ @ComicsBornAndBred - Yeah, it DEFINITELY wasn't there best movie, but it did have great performances and some moments that work as great clips. As a whole, though, the movie just didn't work.

This moment still makes me laugh ever since I saw it in one of the trailers.

@SpideyPuffsMJ - they got a little too pretentious and made the movie too much about nothing

I'm digging Glover in "Atlanta". I'm curious to find if he will do a Billy Dee W. impression or try to make it his own.

Both actors truly have huge shoes to fill; shoes broken in by Hollywood legends who defined iconic, unforgettable characters that are oozing with charisma.

But, I just hope it is entertaining. 😐
