Plans May Already Be In Place For SHAZAM! Sequels According To The Movie's Producer

Shazam! is still quite some time away from hitting theaters but it appears as if Warner Bros. is confident in its chances of success because producers have already started mulling over sequel ideas...

Entertainment Weekly has a very interesting piece on Shazam! in their latest issue and while we'll bring you more on that soon, there's one thing in particular which is definitely of interest. While the movie doesn't hit theaters until next April, it appears as if producers are already thinking about what comes next for the hero as Peter Safran confirmed that there have been discussions within Warner Bros.

After teasing a bright future for Shazam in the
DCEU, he was asked how the studio is planning on dealing with the fact that star Asher Angel (Billy Batson) is growing up fast, and said: "We have plans in place for sequels that take into account those realities." What does that mean? As of right now, we don't know but the youngster is obviously still quite a bit younger than Shazam actor Zachary Levi.

It's thought that Warner Bros. will release Black Adam after Shazam! before bringing the two heroes together and they could always run with a storyline where Billy is unable to transform back into his youthful self if Angel's age becomes too much of a problem. With any luck, their plans will become clear soon but that obviously hinges on this first instalment being a box office hit when it's released.

That's pretty optimistic. Let's see a trailer first...and then how it actually does. I still wish they would have given him some more time to bulk up...so he could fill out the suit a little better and he it look more real and natural.

I am excited for this movie to say the least. I will agree with some folks that the suit in certain shots looks a bit big.......but than again he needs to be big.

Anyways I love the way the suit looks, I love the premise of the movie. I just wish some people would let the trailer drop before they nitpick this movie apart.

@JoeMomma29 - The thing is it looks "fake big". Batman looked "fake big" as well. Cavill is naturally big and he looked legit as Superman. You could see how natural he and Gadot looked over how fake and ridiculous Ben Affleck looked.

It reads more like...wishful thinking in case a moment would arise. Something like this, for any director would question and studios the contract. So...maybe just playing it safe just in case but it doesn't seem like they have a sequel plans other than a Black Adam vs Shazam movie.

The excitement that I have for Aquamen has overflow a little bit into this film, but I still think the hair looks like shit.

Always the problem with a live action version of the character but it is what it is. Most of the work is just casting the right kid though.
