Entertainment Weekly has a very interesting piece on Shazam! in their latest issue and while we'll bring you more on that soon, there's one thing in particular which is definitely of interest. While the movie doesn't hit theaters until next April, it appears as if producers are already thinking about what comes next for the hero as Peter Safran confirmed that there have been discussions within Warner Bros.
After teasing a bright future for Shazam in the DCEU, he was asked how the studio is planning on dealing with the fact that star Asher Angel (Billy Batson) is growing up fast, and said: "We have plans in place for sequels that take into account those realities." What does that mean? As of right now, we don't know but the youngster is obviously still quite a bit younger than Shazam actor Zachary Levi.
It's thought that Warner Bros. will release Black Adam after Shazam! before bringing the two heroes together and they could always run with a storyline where Billy is unable to transform back into his youthful self if Angel's age becomes too much of a problem. With any luck, their plans will become clear soon but that obviously hinges on this first instalment being a box office hit when it's released.
