Here are the relevant excerpt from the actresses interview with Celebuzz. I have to admit that I'm a little confused that they've decided to create a new character for The Amazing Spider-Man when they could finally utilise the likes of Liz Allen or even Debra Whitman, but this role does sound quite a minor one. Check out what she had to say below and be sure to share your thoughts in the usual place!

You’re in the newest addition of the Spider-Man series, The Amazing Spider-Man, which is set to be released next summer. Can you tell us about your role and what it was like filming the movie?

I am playing the school nerd, Missy Kallenback, and I have a crush on Spider-Man. But, of course, I don’t know he is Spider-Man so I actually have a crush on Peter Parker. So I am mostly swooning over him in it.

What was it like filming with Andrew Garfield? Any real-life crushes there?

He was awesome! I had no idea he was British actually, even though I have seen a lot of his films, so it was a shock hearing his British accent. He was really nice and totally welcoming, it was really fun to film with him. He made me feel really comfortable.

You’ve been able to film with the likes of Andrew Garfield, Kristen Stewart and Emma Stone; it must be really fun to be able to work with so many members of Young Hollywood!

It drives me to work more and work harder. I see all of their success and I’d love to be able to experience that as well.

Where they able to help you at all on the set or give you any words of wisdom?

Just watching them was the main help, just observing them. They’re so professional and so experienced that just watching them was the biggest lesson of all, because they are all so talented.

With an all star cast that includes Andrew Garfield as Spider-Man, Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy, Denis Leary as Captain George Stacy, Rhys Ifans as Curt Connors, Martin Sheen as Uncle Ben and Sally Field as Aunt May, The Amazing Spider-Man is set to be released in 3D on July 3, 2012!

Instead of "new" useless characters, should have put Liz Allen in there or attempt to reboot Harry Osborn and do him right this time. No Paintball Goblins.

oh that's right instead of making her someone from the comics why not just make her a completely new character, because that's just better... aka sony logic

btw don't talk to me about Darcy and Selvig in Thor, Darcy was just to humor the show a bit, Selvig i personally have a theory he's a composite character... still doing research on that... and personally I thought that the characters could have been done with a person from the comics anyway, and i believe that is the weakest part of thor

so there...

mark my words: Amazing Spider-man film + Sony = Awful Spider-man film

what about the lesbian scene... sub-plot i guess!

@otherside

Just so I understand you, you're suggesting the character of Darcy in Thor having not originated from the comic is regrettable but acceptable, because she was "just to humor the show a bit". However, this newly craeted character in a movie you havent seen and have no idea how she services the story, is unaccepatable?

Then you go on to write "Amazing Spider-man film + Sony = Awful Spider-man film". So I take you feel the 3 previous films were "awful"?

That is a strange Cupid as Spiderman pic.

She didn't know that he's british? Wtf, what is she, 12?

I also like the part about how working with actors such as Kristen Stewart makes her want to work harder. Don't be like Kristen Stewart sweetie, she's just awful.

Anyway, I don't imagine they'll be Kallen her Back (get it?) for any sequels.

Lol at the fools hating on this film. How about you judge it after it comes out! While I wasn't the biggest fan of First Class, about 90% of people on this site crapped all over the film before it came out, and look how that turned out!

The thing is, we've got a great director and a fantastic cast, and yet people are still drawing comparisons to Twilight!?! WHY!? What have Webb or Garfield or ANYONE done to deserve that?

This movie is just an excuse to draw

EXTREMELY obvious to almost everybody!
Total pandering bullsh*t! Crass
commercialism at it's crassest!
Whatever happened to making movies for
"ART"! If they make art the money will
come in truckloads!

Stop pandering Hollywood, you bunch of
money-number-crunching, greedy, uncreative,
hack, suits!

@Blitzed no the other films aren't awful but i want a at least nearly perfect film for Spider-man...

and no Darcy isn't acceptable in Thor and I really hate that she was in it... still since they did Thor so well... it is forgivable that Darcy is in it... with The Amazing Spider-man it isn't connected to the MCU i don't like half of the people that are playing aka peter and gwen... plus the suit isn't a good adaption from the comics... The Amazing Spider-man might be ok film but I want something more like Marvels movies...
