When Sony Pictures released the first trailer for Spider-Man: No Way Home, we were anticipating a poster to accompany it. For whatever reason, that didn't happen, and we're left to wonder what that first official artwork will look like (could we end up seeing more than just the one web-slinger, for example?).
On this amazing fan-made effort, we see Doctor Strange searching the Multiverse and bringing some familiar Peter Parkers into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. They are, of course, the versions Variants played by Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield; the former first suited up way back in 2002, while the latter - who, like Tom Holland, is English - replaced him in 2012's The Amazing Spider-Man.
While it's obviously hard to put together a poster like this one using only existing imagery, the effect works well, and this team-up really can't happen soon enough. Hopefully, rumours about a second trailer featuring the two other Spider-Men are correct, but we'll obviously have to wait and see.
"For the first time in the cinematic history of Spider-Man, our friendly neighborhood hero is unmasked and no longer able to separate his normal life from the high-stakes of being a Super Hero," reads the movie's synopsis. "When he asks for help from Doctor Strange the stakes become even more dangerous, forcing him to discover what it truly means to be Spider-Man."
Spider-Man: No Way Home is currently set to be released exclusively in theaters on December 17, later this year, and stars Tom Holland, Zendaya, Benedict Cumberbatch, Jon Favreau, Jacob Batalon, Marisa Tomei, Benedict Wong, Willem Dafoe, Alfred Molina, and Jamie Foxx (Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield, and Rhys Ifans are said to be among the threequel's rumoured cast members).
