RUMOR MILL: Marvel Studios May Have Already Cast An Actor To Play Live-Action Miles Morales/SPIDER-MAN

Following reports that Marvel Studios is bringing Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield back for the Tom Holland-led Spider-Man 3, it's now claimed that they've already cast a live-action Miles Morales!

In "Rumor Mill," we share the hard to buy rumours that don't come from reliable sources like the trades, but are still more believable (just) than what you might find on Reddit.

Spider-Man 3 is shaping up to be a much bigger film than anticipated, with Benedict Cumberbatch set to reprise his role as Doctor Strange, and Jamie Foxx signing up to return as Electro after previously playing the villain in 2014's The Amazing Spider-Man 2

This week, rumors started circulating that Marvel Studios is bringing back Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield as their respective versions of Peter Parker. Today, a new report shared by The Direct claims that another web-slinging wonder could be joining them.

It's said that Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures have already found an actor to play a live-action Miles Morales; there's no indication of where he will first appear or who's been cast.

Spider-Man: Homecoming confirmed the existence of Miles in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and it's feasible he could have been aged up thanks to Avengers: Endgame's five-year time jump. This is just a rumor, and not one that's been reported by the trades, so it's best not to get your hopes up when it feels like sites like MCU Cosmic are just throwing ideas at the wall to see what sticks.

I was actually thinking someone’s gonna make a rumour up about this yesterday. If true, it’ll be only as powerless Miles Morales for now. He won’t be a Spidey, yet.

@Se4M4NSt4ine - These rumours are getting out of hand. Right now I'm just waiting for Gwen Stacy and Japanese Spider-Man rumoured appearances too

@bkmeijer - Yeah cant wait for Norman Osborne and Uncle Ben casting news.

Spiderman 2099 was in pre-prod back during the amazong spiderman phase, maybe we will get that too.

2020 just shows that if there is no movies, there is no news. Thats why CBM is posting all these tereible rumors

I doubt we'll get to see Miles already. I think his characters would work better if Peter Parker is a bit older. Or just do the opposite and cast John David Washinton as Miles

@bkmeijer - I would laugh so hard if Marvel Studios was so scared of an older Peter that they just decided to reverse the dynamic and give us a mid 20s Miles mentoring a still teenage Peter.

@bkmeijer - But Donald Glover's character in Homecoming already said he has a nephew, so I doubt he'd be older than Peter.

So it's Spider-Man movie rumour season or what now?

watch the next rumor be Nic Cage cast as live-action Spider-Man Noir. I don't know if Sony/Marvel are making live-action Spider-verse or not but all these convenient rumors just seem like someone is trying to generate clicks for traffic sakes.
