SPIDER-MAN: ACROSS THE SPIDER-VERSE Producers Choose Words Carefully When Asked About Tom Holland Cameo

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse producers Chris Miller and Phil Lord have been asked about the possibility of Tom Holland appearing in the movie, but quickly dodged the question. Here's what happened!

We know Sony Pictures considered having Tom Holland lend his voice to 2018's Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, though it was ultimately decided the time wasn't right. Attempts to include Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield were also shot down, and the reason for that should now be obvious.

We're sure they'll all be part of this animated franchise eventually, and Collider recently asked producers Chris Miller and Phil Lord whether Holland is being considered for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.

The actor spoke positively about the possibility of joining the franchise's during Spider-Man: No Way Home's press tour (as did Zendaya), but Lord and Miller were giving nothing away. "I don't know. No one's called me," the latter responded before Miller chimed in by joking, "I just got a call right now," and that "[it could] possibly [be] Zendaya...she's always calling me/"

Lord kept the gag going by saying it "could be Tom Holland, or it could be a local political campaign asking for money," with Miller dismissing the notion by stating it was "Potential spam, I believe."

It sure does feel like they might be hiding something, eh?

At this point, it makes perfect sense that Holland would make a cameo appearance as his Peter Parker in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, but nothing has been confirmed and likely won't be in advance. It all depends on what Marvel Studios has planned for the wall-crawler heading into that next trilogy, but a meeting with Miles Morales probably wouldn't upset things too much.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (Part One) is set to be released on October 7.

Would be kinda weird having Tom‘s Peter meet a Miles Morales before he meets his MCU Miles. I guess it could work as a cameo (or maybe Miles wont be introduced with Tom‘s Peter, but with Andrew Garfield instead)
