Apparently Michael Massee has been cast in an unspecified role in the upcoming, Marc Webb-helmed Spiderman reboot, according to IMdB. While not being the most trustful news source, and the fact Mr. Massee was not seen on the set of the film, this is still an interesting turn.

Massee is a renown actor in such movies and TV shows as the Crow, Revelations, and more recently Flashforward. he's mostly cast in villainous roles (such as Funboy in the Crow and Dyson Frost in Flashforward), but it just might be a small cameo or something like that. if he IS actually playing a big role, keeping his resume in mind, let's think for a second about what roles can he play.

-first off, it could be just a small cameo to reference his earlier work with comic-book movies, like the Crow and (ugh) Catwoman, or a small role like Thomas C. Howell's role.

-secondly, pretty recently we have seen pictures of Peter with an Oscorp tag and of course, the Oscorp logo itself was shown. there was no implication of either Norman's role, or if he was casted, except from the rumored storyline a few months ago, which was reported to be pretty close, so what if he's playing Norman Osborn?

he's in the right age, he looks kinda like him and also has a resemblance to Willem Dafoe. this also explains why he wasn't seen on set, as possibly the only places we see Norman are in the Oscorp builing. though there is a character very similiar to his role in the TV miniseries Revelations... that might tend to be a little more psychotic.

he was a reiminscent of Kassady in that series, and shown that he can play very insidious, psychotic characters. but what if he'll rather play an old, forgotten enemy of Spiderman?

he looks exactly like Smythe, and also already kinda was Smythe in Flashforward. just a personal guess, but probably way too much of a stretch. my 2 cents are either Norman Osborn or a cameo, but everything's still in the air.

I never trust IMDb but this sounds interesting.
It'd definitely make sense if he was cast as Norman.

if IMDB is to be believed and if he does have a large role I can definitely see him as Osborn, Cassidey and pretty much any psychotic spidey villain.

wasn't he the guy who killed Jet Li's son on the set of The Crow (on accident of course)?

well we can eliminate carnage. they wouldn't put him in there without throwing in venom first. if he is in there than he's more than likely going to be playing Norman Osborn, and you already know that Norman has to be in it at some point IF the proto-goblin is in it, even if it just shows Norman in it for 3 minutes. like him getting arrested and Nels Van Adder getting into his goblin junk ;) go goblin. go goblin.

p.s. Tobey sucked as spider-man but no one will be able to do a better job as gobby like william dafoe!

I LOVE THIS MOVIE ALREADY!

It was Bruce Lees son, and yes, he shot him (on accident of course)

@ironknight yeah, quite tragic, Massee actually quit acting for a period of time (a year i think) because of the trauma. poor sap.

Massee is a good guy, a good guy at playing sinister roles, which makes him perfect for both Norman Osborn and The Green Goblin, in the sequel. Come on Webb make it happen! :D
