Andrew Garfield has been doing the rounds to promote some upcoming projects, and that means he's been talking a lot about those Spider-Man: No Way Home rumours. Appearing on The Tonight Show, the actor was asked specifically about the leaked photo that allegedly shows him suited up on the set of the Marvel Studios movie alongside Tobey Maguire.
"I'm not sure about that," he initially responded as Jimmy Fallon continued to push the subject. Ultimately, a beleaguered Garfield stated that he had "heard about [the photo], and did see it, and it's a Photoshop...I'm trying to manage expectations!"
So, the denials (understandably) continue, but The Amazing Spider-Man star was willing to share his thoughts on the Spider-Man: No Way Home trailer - which he has watched - and Tom Holland's version of the wall-crawler. "I have [seen it], and I'm excited, and I think that Tom Holland is just the perfect Peter Parker and Spider-Man, so I'm just super stoked."
"And I get to just be a fan again, which is my preferred position," Garfield continued, "to be able to sit in the audience and just kind of go [jokingly], 'Yeah, you screwed up mate, you didn't do it as well as you could've done it!' I get to be that guy that's just like, 'Meh, I don't really love the suit, and I don't really love it...' I get to be that person which is much more fun."
Common sense says we will see Garfield's Peter Parker return to the big screen in the upcoming Marvel Studios/Sony Pictures threequel, but for now, the actor is sticking to his story!
