RUMOR: SPIDER-MAN 4 Will Finally Introduce The MCU’s Version Of Miles Morales

A new rumour has surfaced which claims Marvel Studios will be behind Miles Morales’ live-action debut, with the character set to make his debut in the upcoming Spider-Man 4. Read on for further details!

As Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures continue trying to figure out Spider-Man 4, a new rumour has surfaced which may shed some light on their future plans for Peter Parker...and Miles Morales.

According to scooper Daniel Richtman, the plan is for Miles Morales to make his live-action debut in Spider-Man 4. We don't have any additional details beyond that but, as hoped, it appears that the character will call the MCU home instead of Sony's Marvel Universe.

Tom Holland has shared an interest in bringing Miles to the big screen for several years now and we'd guess the plan is for these two to team up before the younger web-slinger becomes Peter's permanent replacement. Whether Marvel Studios will follow the comics by killing Spidey remains to be seen, though we'd like to think he'd get a happy ending after Spider-Man: No Way Home

"It was myself, Amy, [Marvel Studios president] Kevin Feige, [executive producer] Rachel [O’Connor], sometimes other executives from Marvel will sit in," Holland said last June of plans for Spider-Man 4. "It’s a collaborative process. The first few meetings were about, ‘Why would we do this again?’ And I think we found the reason why. I’m really, really happy with where we’re at in terms of the creative."

That sounds promising, but he'd go on to admit, "I’m also a little apprehensive about it. There’s a bit of a stigma about the fourth one in all franchises."

"I feel like we hit a home run with our first franchise and there’s a part of me that wants to walk away with my head held high and pass the baton to the next lucky kid that gets to bring this character to life."

While Holland's wall-crawler is expected to take on a lead role in Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars, it appears this next trilogy will see Peter pass the Spider-Man mantle to Miles. That may seem premature, but if we bid farewell to Holland in Spider-Man 6, for example, then he'll have a good - and lengthy - run as the hero.

Regardless of what the plan is, Marvel Studios being involved with Miles' live-action debut is a definite relief. While the animated Spider-Verse movies have been spectacular, Peter's successor getting the Morbius or Madame Web treatment doesn't bear thinking about.

We've previously heard rumblings that Miles might live in the same apartment building as Peter; the character was also referenced in a Spider-Man: Homecoming deleted scene featuring Donald Glover's Aaron Davis.

Spider-Man 4 doesn't have a confirmed release date. While we wait for news on that, head to the comments section below to let us know your thoughts on this rumour!

So Peter Parker is dying in Secret Wars then

@DankMan - Yep I’ve said it for a long time that Peter will be the sacrifice that will save the multiverse exactly like Tony. The reason being, the multiverse helped him understand there will always be a spider-man to protect New York.

Holland wants out and I bet that’s the holdup with 4’s development.

@kg8817 - I will cry again if this happens. Dammit!

@DankMan - It shouldn't matter who dies in Secret Wars. Deaths wont matter because they can be undone by the end of it, when the universe/multiverse is recreated.

It matters who dies in Avengers 5, that will have impact. But only until the reboot, when they can all be brought back and made younger.

@ObserverIO - Right, Peter Parker as a character can come back. But Tom Holland's character will die or sacrifice himself in Secret Wars, never come back again and a new universe will be created. Probably with some characters remaining the same and some changing drastically.

That is if the Miles Morales rumors are even true
ObserverIO
ObserverIO - 2/27/2024, 11:44 AM
@DankMan - Yeah that would have impact, if it was his retirement from the role and everything. It'd also make sense with Tony Stark dying in Endgame since Peter is basically "The next Tony Stark" for this saga.

Not really needed if you have Peter Parker.

@marvel72 - In a universe full of legacy characters, why is Miles any different? He probably won't even suit up as Spider-Man in the film.

@comicfan100 - You don't need the following either.

Ironheart
Shuri
Ms.Marvel
Kate Bishop

None of them are needed just recast the originals if need be.

@SATW42 - Oh of course, why would I want...

Miles Morales over Peter Parker(Spider-Man)
Ironheart over Iron Man
Black Panther(Shuri) over Black Panther(T'Challa)
Ms.Marvel over Captain Marvel
Kate Bishop over Hawkeye
Jane Foster(Thor) over Thor
X-23(Wolverine) over Wolverine

You need to get your head out of your ass and make everything about racism if you don't like or prefer something.

I guess you missed the article about myself saying about adding Storm and Bishop to the X-Men then you don't have to race swap any of the existing characters.

Kurban

@SATW42 - I mean I’ll say something. Nobody wants or cares about Shuri as BP, they should have recast T’Challa and not doing so damages the BP brand going forward. Ironheart is a waste of a character too and doesn’t need to exist. Every day we get more original female characters in the MCU ON TOP of this genderswapping legacy shit. There’s a reason “M-She-U” has caught on.
SATW42
SATW42 - 2/26/2024, 9:18 PM
@Kurban - it hasn’t caught on outside of neckbeards. My wife has seen every marvel movie and tv show, I asked her if she knew about the “M-She-U” and she hasn’t. Because she doesn’t visit sites like this.

Chris827
Chris827 - 2/27/2024, 7:10 AM
@marvel72 - There have been 3 versions of Spiderman movies, Tom Holland will have had 4 movies and has said he doesnt want to do this forever.

He can do one more solo movie and secret wars and be done and mcu can move on. After secret wars miles should be the main spiderman.

oh no he's black though so marvel is woke or something right?

finally?

OleBobbyTiger
OleBobbyTiger - 2/26/2024, 6:33 PM
@grif - Right?

Holland's Spiderman just graduated high school. He's still a kid. Time to reboot with Miles. We can't get any stories with a seasoned Spiderman. Only origins all the time.
PC04
PC04 - 2/26/2024, 5:19 PM
Miles have proven to be a great character, but its far too early to introduce him. Peter needs to stand on his own. Re-establish Spider-man as a hero then Miles can come in.
Origame
Origame - 2/26/2024, 5:25 PM
@PC04 - yeah. They basically just gave him his origin story.
SonOfAGif
SonOfAGif - 2/26/2024, 10:49 PM
@PC04 - Introducing Miles works this early if he's a young kid and Pete helps Jefferson Davis out at times. Make Miles a Spiderman fanatic.
PC04
PC04 - 2/27/2024, 8:35 AM
@SonOfAGif - In that sense I agree. If he's introduced and not yet the next Spider-man then totally could work. I made the assumption they'd be shoe-horning him in as the next Spider-man already along side Peter. But Peter having an influence on him, inspiring him to be a good person, and a hero is a great choice.
SonOfAGif
SonOfAGif - 2/27/2024, 8:41 AM
@PC04 - What I hope is that Miles is what T'Challa Jr was for Wakanda Forever. Introduced young and saved to surprise the audience as to who he was. I would hope that Jefferson Davis is the "Commissioner Gordon" of the new trilogy and because Fisk has NYPD officers on his payroll and the DA, Davis kind of goes to Spider-Man with Intel and evidence to catch criminals. Sort of how Yuri was in the first Spider-Man PS4 game. And then have Jefferson Davis die off in Spider-Man 6 with an older Miles becoming Spider-Man towards the end to help Peter battle the Spider-Slayers
SheepishOne
SheepishOne - 2/26/2024, 5:19 PM
I think introducing Miles as a character is fine at this point, but he shouldn't develop any spider-powers until much later. We're finally at a point where Peter is in "classic Spidey" territory, with his own place in NYC, a fresh start with a new homemade suit, etc. I'd hate to take focus away from that for yet another character introduction, when it feels like we just kicked things off with Peter.

I'd be fine with Spider-Man helping out Miles' dad in one of the opening scenes, and seeing a young Miles (like 10 years old) admiring him. Then, by Spider-Man 6, a 15 year old or so Miles gets abilities.
StSteven
StSteven - 2/26/2024, 7:20 PM
@SheepishOne - Yeah, I totally agree and I'm pretty sure that that's where they're headed with this (if true). It makes perfect sense for a long-term trajectory for Spidey (and we all know how Kevin like to plan long-term). Now is a good time to introduce Miles as just a young kid on the block like you said, but nothing more. Just a recurring character that we know is around and maybe we see some interaction between him and Peter (as neighbors or whatever) and Miles and Spidey (obviously not knowing that they are the same person). But that's pretty much it. Keep Miles in the background at first and slowly bring him in a little more with each of the movies in the new trilogy, so that by the end of the 6th movie (when Miles becomes the new Spidey and Peter presumably hands over the mantle so that he can settle down with MJ (for now anyway)) Miles can take over with the possibility of Peter popping in/coming back at some point if needed. That should make everyone happy (especially Holland if he's tired of playing the role by that point).

Then they do the same type of build toward Mayday taking over for Miles or partnering with him eventually as Miles becomes more experienced and can mentor her along with Big Daddy Peter. I mean, it all makes perfect sense to me as a way to go. Plus, as long as they don't actually kill off Peter they can bring him back whenever they want (as long as Holland's down for it). I mean, hell, they brought back the first 2 Spider-Men for "NWH" so nothing's impossible at this point.

Just stick Miles Morales in the VillainVerse.
TheLobster
TheLobster - 2/26/2024, 5:24 PM
Way too early to introduce him. We should get a classic Spidey trilogy and then introduce Miles at the end for Peter to pass the torch to.

[frick]ing SONY is so insufferable..
SATW42
SATW42 - 2/26/2024, 8:27 PM
@TheLobster - I also think it’s too early. But if they are just introducing miles, and he’s a kid, not even high school, and then maybe he becomes Spider-Man like end of his second appearance and then fights along holland in a third appearance, I’m ok with it
