No Way Home ended with Peter needing to pay rent. This means that we will probably see Peter having a job in Spider-Man 4. But what job will our working man Peter Parker have? Will he be a photographer for the Daily Bugle like in the early Steve Ditko and Stan Lee comics? Will he be a web developer like in the Ultimate Universe inprint? Or will he maybe be a teacher or a scientist like in more recent incarnations of the character?
While talking with Marvel Comic´s editor Nick Lowe about Spider-Man on the back of "The Amazing Spider-Man" issue 900, the Marvel Cinematic Universe´s president Kevin Feige said the following when asked about his prefered Peter Parker job:
"Teacher and scientist are the ones that always stick with me because if he hadn’t become Spider-Man, that’s who he was anyway. That’s always the duality of Spidey. Between doing what he is now able to do with these powers but also trying to live the life he would have had anyway. Or attempting to."
Aside from this, when asked which past era he would like to see a Spider-Man movie in, Kevin Feige also mentioned that he would like to see a silent movie era Spider-Man movie staring Buster Keaton as the titular character. He also noted 1934's The Thin Man by William Powell as another great influence:
Buster Keaton’s hard to beat in any capacity. He’s a little older than Peter, even when making his earliest movies. I’ve recently become obsessed with William Powell from The Thin Man. He’s also a little bit older in those films than Peter, but I’d like to have seen him swinging around."
