VIDEO GAMES: Insomniac Games Teases Fans With Update On MARVEL'S SPIDER-MAN For PS4

Insomniac Games is hard at work on their upcoming PlayStation 4 game. Of course, "hard at work" can mean different things and for the developers of Marvel's Spider-Man, it means playing through one of 2018's most anticipated games.

The official Insomniac Games Twitter account shared an update teasing the second day of a studio-wide playtest for Marvel's Spider-Man. The developer even joked, "Yes, this is our official job!" The tweet also included an image of what could be the game icon on the PlayStation 4 dashboard.

Several developers who are involved with the project also joined in on Twitter to share their experiences, including Marvel Games Senior Producer Eric Monacelli.

Horton's comments didn't sit too well with fans concerned that three playthroughs in two days could mean a short gameplay experience. He assured them, "Each play through has taken multiple days... long nights ahead of me."

Marvel's Spider-Man still doesn't have a firm release date, but if this latest playtest is any indication, hopefully it'll swing onto PS4 sooner in 2018 rather than later.

My most anticipated game of 2018, along with Kingdom Hearts and God of War.

I wonder when we’ll hear more about the Avengers project

@PicolasCage - That Square Enix Avengers Project game has me very intrigued🧐

@ChangAlang - I really, REALLY hope each of the main avengers gets their own solo game series ala Spider-Man and Batman.

It would be so cool to have single player experiences that takes a deep exploration of the mythos of Cap, Thor, Iron Man, & Hulk as the Arkham Games did.

Give the spotlight to some lesser known villains alongside the greats, imbue the world with its own sense of place and character, create gameplay mechanics around each heroes unique core abilities. Thor especially has so much potential

Please come out soon! They better get it out in the next 2 months if they want to avoid RDR2 competition.

@Nightwing1015 - Or people will buy both?

@SonOfAGif - Yeah of course they could (I certainly will) but it would still be preferable for them to avoid the competition. That's why movies try not to clash with each other. People could easily buy tickets to both movies but I makes sense for them to come out a different times.

@Nightwing1015 - especially since they are both open world games.

You’re gonna spend a few weeks (at least) getting lost in each. I’m sure as hell not buying them both at the same time. If that were the case, depending on my mood, I would pick one to wait for a preowned copy, or a price drop.

And kingdom hearts 3 for me

@Ineedrevelation - this, monster hunter world, god of war, and metro 3 for me.

If any of you are FPS fans, and haven’t played the metro games, you are really missing out. One of the most under-appreciated game franchises.

Holy shit balls I am so excited for this.

Playing spider-man is so fun that I actually managed to beat TASM game, and got to the final boss in 2. (With games, I have a terrible habit of putting off the final battle until the “perfect time” and just never come back.)

I bet this controls much better, and is less repetitive.

Better be able to change suits though. It’s far and away the best part of TASM 2. And I don’t like this one very much.
