Fans were recently treated to an amazing launch trailer for Marvel and Insomniac Games' Spider-Man PS4, and now they have an exciting open-world trailer to enjoy.

The latest trailer doesn't really reveal anything new about the highly anticipated game, but it does live up to its namesake and provides us with an excellent look at the open-world environment, highlighting some of the tasks players can do.

However, even though it doesn't feature a lot of new gameplay footage, you can hear a fun debate between J. Jonah Jameson and Peter Parker (Peter Patterson) as they discuss the web-slinger's impact on the city.

And to top it all off, the spectacular new footage reveals a better look at a few of the iconic Marvel landmarks that will appear in the game, including Doctor Strange's Sanctum Sanctorum and Avengers Tower.

@Bakugo - Kacchan?!

I just started My Hero Academia this past Friday. I'm not much of an anime guy anymore but GODDAMN this show is great.

@TexasAvenger - Bruh I'm right there with you, the last anime I consistently watched was back in the old DBZ days but My Hero is the best show (not just anime) I've seen in years.

Exploring every single nook & cranny of the Big Apple is the first thing I'm gonna do in this game for a few days (or more)
Also, anyone find it to be kinda clever that the PS4 seal makes the box-art represent all the colors of Spider-Man?

@ANewPope - Damn that has got to be the best looking spidey suit. Those hand “bone” parts are so friggin cool.

@AFriendFromWork - I got that vibe too, and I kinda love it. More modern interpretations of these characters.

I HAD TO TURN THE SOUND OFF.

Lighting looks great, though. Looks like they have simulated the rotation of the sun with the long shadows of the late afternoon. I'm a sucker for lens flare, I'll admit.

Eh, kind of lame how that J.J. conversation was just used as a gimmick to describe the gameplay lol

@THEDARKKNIGHT1939 - Lmao every time i see you comment about this game you say something negative about it? Batman fanboy detected?

@Brifo - Does my username give it away lol? Spider-Man is my second favorite superhero of all time, so I am more critical towards anything Spider-Man related because I want it to be the best.

@THEDARKKNIGHT1939 - Nah I feel you, he's my favourite Superhero and I do want it to be the best as well. I thought it was a clever way and loved the interaction with JJJ and Peter but just my opnion.

THEDARKKNIGHT1939 - 8/15/2018, 6:20 PM
@Brifo - Don't get me wrong, the game looks like the best Spidey game yet, that's for sure. This trailer just seemed a bit corny for my tastes as all.

As for my other problems, I don't like the face models they used for the characters. I just think they look kinda ugly and don't match their comic book counterparts. I also don't like how Sony seems to be forcing Homecoming into it (the costume design, Avengers references). Other than that, it looks great. Amazing graphics, scope, and game mechanics.

@THEDARKKNIGHT1939 - I wouldn't even say the best Spidey game, I'd even say the best Marvel video game yet.

@repulse93 - thats always the case usually.
Spock0Clock

@BlackBeltJones - As irritating as the whole Registration thing can be, it does offer the suggestion that the "big guns" are generally too tied up in red tape to handle some lunatic in a robot suit robbing a bank.

Like New York has municipal regulations against super-battles over petty things because the fights actually cost more in public property damage than just letting the crook get away with it (or even better, if the police actually do catch a lot of supervillains "off-camera" in busts and for ancillary crimes after the fact). Similar to how the standard operating procedure for high speed pursuits is often to keep your distance so the suspect doesn't do anything needlessly reckless trying to get away.

Would you rather Spider-Man and Doc Ock derail an elevated train in mid-town over a few bags of coins or just catch Otto at home in his underwear on tax evasion and numerous EPA violations for operating unregistered industrial equipment in the wetlands?

GhostDog - 8/15/2018, 4:37 PM
@Spock0Clock - "the "big guns" are generally too tied up in red tape to handle some lunatic in a robot suit robbing a bank."

Tony: Who do you think called the FBI?

0:46

Tony: There are people who handle this sort of thing.

Peter: The Avengers?

Tony: No, no, this is a little below their pay grade.

1:34

Yea. Even despite the Registration, which I'm sure has these stipulations in place, The Avengers still seem to leave specific criminal activity to others. They're focused on big picture stuff.

Bank robberies, urban organized crime, illegal weapons (even the alien kind, especially if its being peddled by low level thugs and not organizations like HYDRA) are better left to local law enforcement and "horned" vigilantes who beat the shit out of gangsters.

@BlackBeltJones - At this point Thanos could invade earth in this game and the Avengers would still be like

Pretty creative way to present this. I love everything I've seen so far.
I sure hope we also get a glimpse at the Baxter Building or the Empire State University.
