Emma Stone Reveals Whether She Would Be Interested In Playing SPIDER-GWEN
Very few newly created comic book characters have quite taken the world by storm like Spider-Gwen, but many fans are now hoping she will soon make her big screen debut.
The Amazing Spider-Man Universe is dead. Andrew Garfield will no longer be playing Peter Parker when the wall-crawler makes his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut, and Sony's spinoff plans have been put on the back burner while Kevin Feige looks to repair the damage they did to the franchise.
One idea thrown around by Sony was a female led spinoff, and some "Sony Hack" emails actually addressed the possibility or bringing Emma Stone back as either Spider-Gwen or - seriously - Carnage. That could still happen, and when MTV News caught up with the actress, they asked her if she would be interested in taking on the role. It sounds like she very much is, and while Stone points out that a lot of moving parts would have to come together to make it happen, Marvel and Sony would no doubt have a hit on their hands if they moved forward with Spider-Gwen.
The video is also well worth a watch to see Bradley Cooper's complete befuddlement at the name as he questions why she would be called Spider-Gwen when Spider-Man isn't called "Spider-Peter". Would you like to see Stone lead a movie starring the fan-favourite Spider-Verse character?
