This year's San Diego Comic-Con might just be remembered as the one which brought exclusive footage at the event to an end. The Suicide Squad trailer being leaked forced Warner Bros. to officially release it - much to the delight of fans - but it's something the studio clearly isn't happy about based on the following statement released via their newly launched social media accounts.
"Warner Bros. Pictures and our anti-piracy team have worked tirelessly over the last 48 hours to contain the Suicide Squad footage that was pirated from Hall H on Saturday," said Sue Kroll, President Worldwide Marketing and International Distribution, Warner Bros. Pictures yesterday. "We have been unable to achieve that goal. Today we will release the same footage that has been illegally circulating on the web, in the form it was created and high quality with which it was intended to be enjoyed. We regret this decision as it was our intention to keep the footage as a unique experience for the Comic Con crowd, but we cannot continue to allow the film to be represented by the poor quality of the pirated footage stolen from our presentation." Oof, that's a little less tongue in cheek than Marvel's "Dammit, HYDRA" from last year, eh?
So, who's in the photo below? Well, we have Cara Delevingne (who originally shared the photo via her Instagram account), Joel Kinnaman, Jai Courtney, Will Smith, Adam Beach, Karen Fukuhara, Jay Hernandez, and Margot Robbie once again showing off the tongue which made for one of the trailer's most memorable moments. Suicide Squad is set to be released on August 8th, 2016.
