While on the red carpet for the annual GLAAD Media AwardsViola Davis (How To Get Away With Murder) took a few moments to chat with CBR News about her upcoming role as Amanda Waller in David Ayer's Suicide Squad. Her first question was the age-old why did she sign on for the part, her reply: "That she’s Amanda Waller! That she’s badass!"

The actress then elaborated a bit and revealed how she relates to the character: "She’s unapologetic, everything that I’m reading and studying about her: unapologetic, no humor, just brutal. That’s me!" The
two-time Tony Award-winner & two-time Academy Award-nominee sounded genuinely excited that she'll be the one to bring The Wall to life on screen and ended her brief interview by sharing some of the sentiment"Listen, she gets to use a gun, it’s my fantasy. Now, I would never do that in real life, but when I get a gun on set, it does something to me. *Laughs*"

Directed by David Ayer, Suicide Squad stars Will Smith (Deadshot), Joel Kinnaman (Rick Flag), Jared Leto (the Joker), Margot Robbie (Harley Quinn), Jai Courtney (Boomerang), with Cara Delevingne (Enchantress), and Jessie Eisenberg (Lex Luthor). The film opens August 5, 2016!

Joker and Harley Quinn are all the humor relief we'll need. I really do want my villains to look and act like actual villains but Joker and Harley just scream theatrical madness. But it should still be pretty gruesome, especially if this is coming from the same guy who wrote Training Day.

Joker gonna have everyone fooled thinking a bombs about to go off and just sit there like...

She totally gets it don't stuff humour where it shouldn't be just to get the teenybopper audience.
I'm glad.
We've got a great comedy next month.

I don't understand why people are expecting Joker and Harley Quinn to be comedic relief or even funny at all. I mean, I've always seen them as creepy and deranged and they're really only funny to themselves which is what makes them crazy. Maybe he is funny, but his jokes are either lame or funny in a sick and twisted way which I don't think that's the kind of funny people are expecting.

One of THE best actresses out there.
She's a scene stealer, really loved her in Doubt and yes, she kicks ass in How to Get Away with Murder.
Can't wait to see her in action!

To me, that's what makes them funny. First time I saw The Dark Knight and Joker did the pencil trick I laughed my ass off. No lie.

That's kind of sick, but still.

Yeah! She's gonna own the role. One of the best casting in this movie. Can't wait to see inside Belle Reeve prison with a lot of villains easter eggs.

She is an amazing actress. Marvel has good ones too but I mean they are seperated over the Studios. They have one of the biggest talents to play Reed Richards and he's at fox. That is the Amazing advantage of the DCU they own everything. And they have amazing actors and directors.

What makes DC great is that thier villians are as big names/stars as their hero's, especially Batman and Superman. Having a movie all about the villians second, with an amazing cast. I can't wait for this, it might end up being better than BvS.
