Although the prospect of Michael Rooker bringing life to King Shark in The Suicide Squad is one fans were firmly behind, it doesn't look like it's on the cards after all.

Despite The Wrap reporting, and the trades seemingly confirming, that the Guardians of the Galaxy actor was in talks to rejoin James Gunn for his DC sequel, Rooker has since taken to Instagram to deny his involvement.

There's always a chance he was in talks and the deal fell through, of course, but based on Gunn's response to his friend's post, it seems more likely that there was never any truth to the report.

What do you guys think? Disappointed that Rooker (most likely) won't be playing King Shark in The Suicide Squad? Sound off in the comments.
